Hey everyone I'm going to try to keep this short... I've been having a problem with porn for about 3 years now on and off and recently it's become the worst it's ever been. I used to be able to go a month without it, but now I can't even go more than three days. I'm religious and I realize that it's a bad habit that's been controlling me, as I usually look at porn to get off. I'm tired of this trend and I want to change. I'm accepting the June challenge and really from this I'm expecting to: 1. Deeper my relationships with God, family, and peers 2. Increase self-discipline 3. Have self confidence to talk to women and not be lusting after their bodies but seeing them as a people 4. Remove my procrastination habit which got worse as I started consuming porn. 5. Eliminate guilt/condemnation after watching porn - I get mad at myself afterwards because I know i could've done better. I feel like porn has even hindered my creativity as an artist. Overall I'm going to conquer this thing this year. I don't know how often ill post in the journals but I will try. The reason I chose "Ultron" as my username is because I love what he says in the new Avengers film "there are no strings on me". I'm not going to let porn attach itself to me any longer. I had strings, but now I'm free.
Welcome! It's great that you recognize this as a problem and have a list of reasons to quit. Whenever you feel weak remember these things and they'll help you through it. Don't hate yourself over this though. If you slip up again, know that it's wrong and focus your energy on not letting it happen again. It may also help you to make a plan and put it into action when you get urges. Like brush your teeth, press the panic button, recite an inspirational quote, etc... Btw that's an awesome quote from Ultron.
