Was just thinking about this whole nofap forum experience and the amazingly helpful and often inspiring counters in our signatures. When I see big swaths of green in peoples signatures I know I can do it too. Would love to hear what everyone else's thoughts are. Here we go.

What is it that makes me truthful and consistent with reseting my counter with every relapse? Even though sometimes I struggle I always keep myself accountable.

I could easily just not reset it and not post about the relapse. I could easily pretend to be a nofap machine for all to envy. I could easily pretend to be someone, something I'm not. I'm sure there are some people like that out there somewhere with the number of online communities devoted to helping people with their PMO habits and the shear number of people involved in all those communities.
    But really what is it?

Is it the desire and determination to be free of this addiction?
Is it the need for the support of others going through the same struggle with porn and masturbation?
Is it the need to be accepted despite character flaws?
Is there a sense of honor or brotherhood/sisterhood among us as a community?
I don't know, to be honest. I think I'd have to explore the question for longer than 5 minutes.

What are your thoughts about counters? What is your experience with being truthful with your counter? Do you guys and gals struggle with it? Have other peoples counters helped or inspired you?

Counters are like mirrors. Sometimes the truth hurts.

You got wrong approach buddy. We are not here to envy each other but to support. Sure you could just leave your counter but you are fooling only yourself because you are doing this for yourself, not for us.
