I can totally relate. Here, in this forum, everyone of us here is more or less stuck in some kind of vicious cycles.

Instead of thinking about quitting, trying to focus on what I can do in real life seems to be much easier to me, and you may do the same. Replace those addictive behaviors and poor living habits with those useful ones which helps you to build your future ideal self. Here are some directions which you may follow (which is what I am also doing recently):
    1. Bedtime: 22:00~05:00 (may vary depending on where you live)
    2. Exercising: Not less than 30 minutes every day. Don't overexert yourself, especially if you are not in good health condition, e.g. going for a walk outdoors or meditating is okay.
    3. Reading: Read around 20~60 mins of books / materials on NoFap, or spiritual growth.
    4. Striving: Striving at work, school, or regarding other life goals.
    5. Kindness: Doing one kind deed every day, even if it is just small actions like giving someone a genuine smile, or making a small donation.
    6. Self-reflection: Every day, write a journal which include your current status, reward, and inadequacy each day, followed by a few things which you plan to do tomorrow in order to make progress in life.
    7. I also do Buddhist chants, which is believed to be effective in reducing negative and unwanted thoughts to act mindlessly. But for people who cannot accept this, they can write a small passage to remind himself of the "whys" of his journey, and read it out every day.
The whole point of doing these things is to push yourself back to a "normal lifestyle", such that you forget about those weeds, porn and things you want to stop. Just thinking about quitting without changing your lifestyle and mentality thoroughly will only keep you stuck in this vicious cycle of quitting & relapsing, and from my experience it never works.

There's no need to spend hours every day on NoFap (including this forum and reading materials on such topic), or think about "how to quit" all day. You get rid of your addictions by exposing yourself to the society, striving for excellence in real life.

Hope this helps. I wish you well brother. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have further questions.

Same situation, but my weed addiction is probably stronger than all my addictions. I smoke the first thing I wake up and throughout the day and all night before bed so basically the entire day. Going thru an eighth a day like it’s nothing. There’s a smoke shop next to my apartments and I probably spent >$3,000 in that store since I moved in 10 months ago…

Oddly enough, weed doesn’t give me an appetite at all now. In fact, it reduces my feeling of hunger and I skip meals often to the point I was fasting without knowing it so I just went with it and started fasting everyday. Only eating once a day from 12pm to 6pm and track my calories since it’s only one meal with a snack or two I can easily count all my calories and record it on my note app. I don allow myself to eat more than 1800 calories a day but I often go over and average around 2000.

    Great post @desmond3.

If you are really struggling to know where to start, begin with a daily walk. Choose a time of day when you are feeling most motivated (usually first thing in the morning, although not always), leave your phone at home if possible, and just walk. And do the same tomorrow, and the day after, and every day.

You might find you come home feeling energised and refreshed. If you do, take advantage - fix a healthy meal. Or write a journal entry. Or read a chapter of a book. See if you can push how long you can go without reaching for your phone, or laptop, or beer/junk food.

If you arrive home feeling zonked, dont worry about it. You've done enough.

You might be better off if you try and kick one or two of those habits at a time. Drugs and alcohol just make quitting anything else that much harder, so I'd start there. There are resources available online such as SMART Recovery or you can do NA/AA in person if that's more your thing. I had to find my own way, myself. Good luck to you.
