thoughts on ways to alleviate PIED

    I've been experiencing this, this bad - i relapsed hard for about 5 months. I've had it before and used the below suggestions to aleviate it completely

    I've noticed: I can get an erection with porn. I have morning woods most days. When I abstain from masturbating for even 2 days my erections start coming back, but my attraction and libido go away. I still have trouble getting erections from just fantasy or a woman in my bed.

    I'm pretty certain that NoFap will help to repair the body, but taking certain supplements and foods will be necessary to completely repair the damage. I had several years porn and masturbation free and the herbs considerably increased my sexual potency (extremely strong erections, large semen amounts, easily aroused, long time in bed, ejaculation control - fast or slow, whatever I wanted). I also found exercise to be really helpful, especially yoga and tai chi. Weight lifting and cardio less so, but do help.

    I think that only doing NoFap without some hormone and metabolic healing with herbs, it will take a lot longer than it needs to. Read on for some thoughts, they aren't complete, but this is a first pass

    Some thoughts:
    Steroid users typically get erectile disfunction after they stop a cycle. Their testosterone plummets. It takes them usually the same amount of time they are on the cycle to get it back. So if they were on cycle for 90 days, it takes about 90 days to return to normal.

    Orgasm increases testosterone temporarily, then it plummets it. Much of the testosterone is converted into dht and estrogen I think, not totally sure on the science.
    That plummet and increased DHT and estrogen cause a problem with erections.

    There appears to be brain desensitization from excessive fantasizing, so normal attractive women in real life aren't attractive. This contributes to not being aroused by women in real life, only by watching many many videos in a session (that's how I use porn anyway). So that's an issue.

    There is also the weakening of the nervous system from constant sympathetic nervous system stimulation. This over time weakens the ability to get aroused. It also effects mood, digestion, sleep, energy.

    From a Chinese medicine perspective:
    Normal sex is much healthier than masturbation. With real sex there is heat exchange. With masturbation heat is released. This contributes to kidney yang deficiency. Erectile disfunction is usually due to withered yang, but can also be because of heart or spleen issues too. Overactive heart or deficient spleen.

    I've done a lot of work with Chinese Medicine.

    Possible solutions for most:
    A diet that eliminates white sugar, fried foods, excessive wheat and all cold beverages will help the spleen.
    Adding in boiled or baked sweet potatoes and garlic in the diet will help build up the spleen and kidney fire. Ginger in the morning will help too. Getting enough protein is important.

    Taking ashwaganda increases qi/jing and helps to increase yang, zinc/mag/calcium will help give building blocks to repair damage. I've also taken herbs by dragon herbs with much success.

    it's best to talk with a tcm doc though to make sure you don't have any blockages. Taking tonic herbs like those described above can be dangerous without seeing if you have blockage. A quick test is seeing if you have a heavy coating on the tongue or enlarged blue vains under the tongue. If you have either of those. Get the liver blockage drained and the dampness removed before tonifying .
