    Hello fellow Fapstronauts.

This is real. THIS IS REAL. That is my mantra. And by this I mean PORN ADDICTION.

My lizard brain has become such an expert at telling me, convincing me that it isnt an addiction..that its normal... hell..even HEALTHY! (wow, look at me - even at my age I can "go" several times a day! Damned lizard brain.) But I always wind up back in the same space. Having to admit that I have an addiction...and am broken in many ways.

    History:
Ive always been "hyper sexual" to an extent. I can remember getting turned on by my 2nd grade teacher in her skirts and heels. Like, ridiculously turned on. Next I started looking at my sister's Cosmopolitan magazines before I could even ejaculate.. then I moved on to stealing dirty mags at the local liquor store (what a little effing expert shoplifter I was!)... then reaching under my older brothers bed for his "collection" (he's probably an addict too).. Finally.... VHS, DVD, internet, streaming... and NOW.. holy crap. With devices like Amazon Fire and smart tv browsers..its just a simple voice command to pull up ANY effing porn scene that I want. "Hmm... shall I binge on the latest Netflix or Amazon Prime series? Or dive into a 3 hour porn binge?".

Pornography is absolutely ubiquitous. My brethren and sistren - we are doomed as a society, culture if we dont get a hold of this. Maybe its just my opinion... but I believe the sheer number of people out there that are just not "coupling" anymore bears me out. This is a true societal crisis.

Or... is it just me/us? Are there really those out there that can take it or leave it (porn)? Honestly it doesn't matter. What matters to me is that I MUST stop.. Im an addict. I cant "take it or leave it". Every PMO takes me farther away from the man I want to be...its as simple as that.

Well... Here I am. Day one. Much positivity and strength to all of us! Whatever your God is..or your spiritual space... I pray for strength and integrity for all.

Only strong will truly beat this habit to live with it for rest of our lives.

  3. Hey @movetointegrity ,

I'm just a normal ordinary member. No moderator super powers and no special insite. I share my ESH (Experience, Strength and Hope) of what works for me.

Just another warm welcome and a heart felt hello. This community has helped me so much.

What worked for me was "working" it. It took hard work for me to complete a hard reboot (No pmo) for 120 days, then move into a Sex Positive mode.

First, reading the literature published by NoFap itself along with reading journals.

Then, doing the work. Writing in my journal and replying to introductions and other's journals.

Finally, but not least, getting involved with the fellowship. I found it on the forums, but also in people's profiles. The forums tend to be longer posts, where the profiles tend to be more "conversational".

That is what has worked for me. I like to remind myself that this community was here waiting for me with the lights on when I arrived. Now, I have to do my best to be there when someone comes to the community.

    PS:

One of the ways I got involved with the fellowship was by reading some really great journals.

I've included journals from all age groups, spiritual members, religious members, secular members, male and female. You should find journals that help. If not, look around, there are hundreds of others from which to choose. When I say "it works if you work it", reading journals is part of that work.

Once you open a journal, click "Watch Thread" in the upper right of the page to get alerts when new posts are made. Here are just a few:
