The ultimate tool for finding out where you stand in your recovery is much simpler than you think it is. Its a little thing called "regular feedback" Getting regular feedback during the Reboot process is critical to ending your behavior with pornography and masturbation. There are three ways you receive feedback when rebooting (in order of importance) - Mentors, Therapists, Coaches, Recovery Professionals - Your Partner ( Wife, Girlfriend,etc) or Accountability Partner - Yourself One of the reasons why you should be working on one aspect of your reboot at a time ( Boundaries, Coping Strategies, Self care, Trauma Work…) is because you get overwhelmed when you get too much feedback in multiple areas. When you have too many approaches to recovery you’re trying to follow, you’re going to halt your progress once or twice a week and not know who’s step to follow next. That’s the problem with consuming too many recovery podcasts, youtube videos or books. There is an old saying “Too many cooks spoil the broth”. Too much feedback from different sources give you different “data” which confuses your progress. When you find yourself overwhelmed and confused about what to do next, do this: Pick TWO things or even better ONE thing you are going to work on each month. For instance: - Self Care: Going to sleep at the same time everyday or meditate for 20 minutes every morning. - Relationship: Surprise wife with two nice gestures this month - Mentor: Do exercise assigned by therapist or coach three times a week this month for a total of 12 times. I think problem is with me not doing meditation I will be doing it.
@RiseToGreatness created excellent challenge which unfortunately many of us treat quite lightly and not seriously enough. A lot of brothers consistently break their accountability to rule 2. Post daily so that i can update your rank. And those 'tips' given in the initial thread of the challenge they are no tips but the essential everyday actions-lessons to stay clean and keep progressing as in the challenge as in you life. Many of us behave like bad students who are unwilling to put an effort into studies and keep failing in their exams(the examiner is Lust/PMO) by continuously relapsing and unable to pass into the next grade. Lets stop putting in empty checks(or number of days your counter is showing these) which are like you were at class but instead of learning you listened to the music and played games on your phone. Let us everyday together with checking in we report on how many of the essential 'tips' we followed through the day! You all be surprised how big your streaks will become . Tips: 1- Meditate 2- Stay accountable daily 3- Study about the reboot 4- Take cold showers 5- Challenge daily your excuses to pmo 6- Follow a triggers prevention plan 7- Get occupied. Work in your hobbies and dreams 8- Practice physical exercise 9- Eat healthy 10- Sleep well Please do check on following these everyday.
Day 4: Hey-looooooo NoFap Community! Finals are Doneeeeeeeee! Spending time away from the computer since there is nothing really chaining me here now, just wanted to check in. OK maybe there is one thing chaining me to the computer. Started the Netflix shoe, The Good Place, and I am really enjoying it. Only watching it at night with a friend every so often, but the plan is to spend time away from the screen over the winter holiday. Thank you again wonderful community!

Day 8 complete. Didn't run today since it was raining almost all the time and very cold. I meant to do some reps of pushups but somehow it completely slipped my mind. I will go do that once I finish checking in here. No big urges to report. Porn blockers are still helping me out a lot and I'm very glad I finally bit the bullet and installed them. Yesterday I learned about a story told regarding Pope St. Fabian, who lived in the third century. He was a layman who had traveled to Rome to witness the election of a new pope which was taking place at the time, and at some point during the proceedings, the electors saw an apparition of a dove descending from the rafters over Fabian. They took it as a sign of the influence of the Holy Spirit and made him the next pope. We've all got a bit of that in each of us--even if we seem like nobody, even if we don't always see it, we have unimaginable support behind us to do what must be done. PMO will not have the final word and it does not get to control us. St. Fabian, pray for us!
