    Hellfire 2,

I can't believe this, it is like trying to argue with a Climate Change sceptic/denier. You're just running around with a circular argument claiming to be a victim when you're a perpetrator. As WE ALL are who come to this site, including me.

You completely ignore the points I made (ie 1/2/3/4) and attribute to me what I quote from people WHO ARE MAKING PORNOGRAPHY (This is the 3rd time I have quoted this and you do not answer it)

One pornography industry veteran told Jensen:
I’d really like to show what I believe the men want to see: violence against women. I firmly believe that we serve a purpose by showing that. The most violence we can get is the cum shot in the face. Men get off behind this, because they get even with all the women they can’t have.

I agree there are some valid points. o.k. what are they ???

NB a lot of people who are addicted are from religious backgrounds. This is because they feel even greater moral and spiritual shame for what they have seen and get a bigger high because of it.

You give NO EVIDENCE at all for most of the claims you make, just big generalisations, where do you get this from ? show me the research.

Yes the people who reset are not happy when they go to watch porn. They go there to escape their realty. . life is too hard at that time.

How do you know this, OR is this just YOUR experience.

Explain to me why APCIA on the forum states he prefers female dominance in porn? ? That does not fit your code. Also how about the common disorder of men turning to transsexual porn who are heavily addicted? ? They are not woman. These people don't claim to be gay.

WHAT "CODE" IS THIS ? - don't have one sorry - My 60+ years EXPERIENCE of living on this planet, and travelling around it many times, tells me that this is a sick society, a male dominated sick society.

Again YOU'RE MAKING CLAIMS WITH ABSOLUTELY no evidence - the common disorder of men turning to transsexual porn who are heavily addicted - how on earth do you know this? As Gary Wilson states - "There are MANY men who "get off" on pictures of women in bikinis.

You're argument is the equivalent of saying anyone who uses marijuana becomes a heroin addict. Watching pornography DOES NOT COMPLETELY DESTROY THE ABILITY TO SEE WHAT IS RIGHT OR WRONG.

Also disagree again on my "understanding" of the cognitive function of the brain - what YOU don't seem to understand is that the world doesn't just consist of Straight and gay, there are MANY in between sexual preferences which are NOT SICKNESS' but are chosen preferences which anyone has a right to pursue.
    I replied to APCIA then as I reply to you now, perhaps you didn't read it, and perhaps you should look at the YouTube clip ;

There is a very interesting Gary Wilson YouTube clip "Adolescent Brain meets High Speed Internet Porn" in which he cites many examples of sexual preference being "altered" by internet porn addiction. An example was a young gay guy who through internet porn addiction "turned straight", and after "rebooting" reverted to his 'preferred' gay relationships.

I think he is suggesting that the deciding factor is the amount of Dopamine and Delta Fos B which regulates the "addictive" preferences and when "corrected" can produce changes.

HE MAKES NO CLAIMS WHATSOEVER ABOUT WHAT IS "NORMAL" SEXUAL PREFERENCE - AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU.

These are not people who are looking to degrade women.

Again, I cannot believe what I am reading here - this is just straight out DENIAL, have another look at the quote from the Pornography producer above - this is a guy WHO PRODUCES PORN MOVIES. He makes a living out of suckers like you and me and he knows what "THE MARKET" wants, or he wouldn't be doing it.

So you here are making people feel more shame and guilt who are already addicted and trying to break free. This will not help people addicted!

Do you still feel addicted ? like a victim ? Funny I don't feel like I'm "addicted" any more, I feel like I will never watch pornography again, I have a strength I did not have before when I realise what I am doing to myself and women in general in the 'big picture'.

Most of "the addiction" was broken when I realised I WAS NOT ALONE and others had the same problem of wanting to stop. Addiction stops when you open up and realise what the SCALE of the problem is.

Out of the nearly 400 people who have read this post YOU are the only one who has made comments such as these, which suggests to me that yes you want to stop looking at pornography, but you like society just the way it is, with males in the power position.

If my opinions upset you so much I suggest you read someone else's posts, because I wouldn't be holding my breath waiting for the government to ban the pornography industry anytime soon, or me to change my mind.

No i am quite happy to read what I like. I believe you are the one who does not understand this addiction. How it works on shame and guilt. Good for you getting out of the addiction. I'm happy for you.
The reference to porn makers saying they use degradation of women to sell does not make my argument invalid in fact it supports it. It creates an increased high by adding adrenaline with guilt and shame.
I truly think you should do more research into addiction. Addiction is not a moral choice. I'm sure if it was many people would just quit tomorrow. It is very similar to drug addiction. They know it is bad, unhealthy and imoral but struggle to quit.
I have been doing very well in my addiction I have fought it for 4 years but I am nearing the end.
You sound like you have another agenda on this site which is not much to do with porn addiction rather sexism and abuse in the porn industry. You obviously don't understand what I have been trying to tell you or choose not to listen. Do your research and you find out for yourself what I say is true. Or just ask people on this forum. I have said what I needed to say I will let everyone make their own judgement on this discussion.
I believe the governments will step in with measures. British government has already begun to push this issue and over time it will only gain more traction.
Anyway it was nice to chat thank you for keeping this civil.
Disappointed we couldn't come to an agreement.

Hellfire2, ixpieth - thank you for showing me the error of my ways. When you are deep into a discussion about a philosophy, a belief that is vital it is so easy to get trapped in the debate. I do it all the time and it annoys the hell out of me. Damn my monkey brain.

It really is a chicken or the egg discussion. It is a circular reference discussion that cannot be solved. The only solution is to take the truth from both sides and hold them up as the WHOLE picture.

ixpieth, I really believe hellfire2 is not arguing against you, but is supporting the things you are saying. He may not use the same language or come from the same standpoint. After all, as you said, you are looking at things from the female point of view ("try and put yourself in a woman's place, try understanding how a woman would feel") so your approach is very empathic to the problem and from the standpoint of equality should be an undisputed right, not as a gift. But it is possible to stand in many places and still believe, support and see the same thing, believe the same thing.

On top of that you are, quite rightly, horrified by the immorality and violence of modern day society towards women. It is shocking, disgusting, unacceptable and outrageous. I applaud your stand against it, but I assure you - you do not stand alone.

Hellfire2, I totally get what you are saying and I agree. ixpieth, I totally get what you are saying and I agree.

I also think you are both wrong on several points :p but I know that expressing them now would neither help the situation or change the world.

The 3 of us, the all of us, have already made a stand. We have forsworn P. We no longer support it. And we help others so that they will not support it either. And maybe we, or someone we influence will take it further and motivate people to stand up directly, publicly against P as a step towards ensuring gender equality.

Let's be brothers from different Mothers and say "We are men who have seen the dark side of life and we reject it. We believe in equality. We no longer want to sit by and see wrong being done to our sisters."

Very wise words Perusan, and I agree that neither "side" is right when your looking from the front or Back.

Yes this whole pornography thing is wrong, and I see my perspective as being right for me for addressing how I kick it out of my life.

Maybe I also realise that my remaining life has a lot shorter span than hellfire's (I think) so I don't have time to fart about experimenting - it has to be NOW for me. I want a good spell of clean living before I kick the bucket . . . .

I don't really like being accused of "having an agenda" though . . .
