I'm not sure what are we trying to do here ? To make ourselves stronger to resist to make strong will power or just to occupy ourselves and do cold showers so we don't even come in temptation ?

What is the purpose of this? We can do 10 cold showers a day for 90 days and make it without any temptation. And then on 91th day we get a first tempattion and we fail because we didn't struggle before..

Or is it purpose to make will stronger so we resist ? Is it possible to resist ?? It's like waving heroine in front of a heroine user ??

    Someone please explain me

There's only purpose in this if you recognize that compulsive porn, masturbation, and orgasm ("PMO" as we affectionately call it here) is a hindrance in your life. If you find yourself generally lethargic, unenthusiastic about life, progressively more isolated socially, less confident, less motivated ... then there's a good chance PMO use is part of the problem.

The fact is that PMO use physically changes the makeup of the human brain. But thanks to neuroplasticity, you can "reboot" your brain by abstaining from those behaviors, and instead adopting healthier behaviors.

It's not at all like "waving heroin in front of a heroin user." We don't set out to test ourselves. We don't think to ourselves, "I'm just gonna watch this porn and see if I can resist the temptation to beat off." Instead, we just refuse to watch porn altogether.

It most definitely IS possible to have freedom from this stuff, and there are dozens of success stories in these forums about guys who've gone 30, 60, 90, 200+ days without ONCE viewing porn or masturbating. Their lives have been changed and they're never going back. I hope you find some hope and encouragement in those threads!

  3. It's about choices. What choice will I make today? What choice will I make tomorrow?

For example, I had urges today when I woke up, but I said no, and I will say no to the urges again tomorrow. I now understand that I have the power to shape my life everyday. If I want a PMO free life, then I will have it.

Urges will always be there, but I still have a choice to make each time, no matter how difficult it gets. I am completely responsible for my own actions.

Hello there. I totally agree with thevisualedge and alltheragebackhome. For me, the aim of it all is self-control. A lot of us here have issues in relation to PMO (either one, both, or all of the three elements). Setting a time frame helps because on the last day, you can evaluate yourself. You can summarize and look back as to what were the benefits, difficulties, and the changes you have seen so far. You can also see what other issues you dealt with during the course of the challenge.

It doesn't necessarily mean that after finishing the challenge after a given number of days, you go back to you your former ways. There's supposed to be, in a way, a change we all will maintain. For me, it's level of self control in another level.

I hope you have set a goal for yourself. Its good to keep a personal journal where you can wrote your thoughts, feelings, and whatever things you experience. Take it one day at a time. This is one of the self-improvement challenges that's not easy but worth it. Fight on fellow fapstronaut!

Pmo takes your energy away and wastes our chance at life. To
    Abstain from pmo you will
Have to put this energy into much more valuable, healthy and durable things which will give you new found power and enthusiasm in pursuing or finding these passions. Why be purely satisfaction oriented it will only harm our future selves by making us lazy and entitled that's what p addiction does (aside from many other harmful things). In my opinion this life is not a dress rehearsal so we need all the advantages we can get. Plus addiction is serious and support groups are proven to help. I struggle to see the point until I relapse and go on a binge which then reminds me why this challenge is vital
