Taking the Next Step to Healing

Hi, all!

I'm a college senior studying biology and Spanish. I can't recall exactly how or when I first started using porn and masturbating, but I know the habits were entrenched by the time I was 13--so at least seven years now. I'd fall under the category of those who went through puberty with this stuff. If my parents knew how much I already knew when they decided to give me "the talk" I imagine they would have been very disturbed.

Enough is enough. In less than a year I'll be graduating and either moving on to a masters degree or entering professional life. My addictions need to stay in the past.

I've made conscious efforts to break these habits as long as I've been in college, but reaching out to people irl has always been a struggle. The longest I ever went by white-knuckling it was about a month and a half. I've considered joining NoFap for a while, but the prospect of integrating myself into a forum community was daunting. Now, though, it seems like the logical next step, if not the only one. I think I'll ease into a 14-day challenge first, maybe tie that in with the monthly challenge for November if things go well, and eventually shoot for the 90-day gold standard reboot.
