I've tried to quit on PMOing on my own for years and it never works. I thought joining NoFap would help keep me accountable. So here goes nothing!!!

I'm starting a 90 day challenge of no PMOing and spending the saved free time on my hobbies like reading or gaming. Friday April 5th is my goal!

I've really struggled lately as videogames have always been my favorite hobby and i've always loved playing with my friends. Within the last few years since moving out of my parents house, I've found myself often choosing watching porn for hours instead of hopping on some videogames with friends. This has hit me hard, and I'm really hoping if I can complete a 90 day reboot, my enjoyment for gaming will come back.

If anyone is wanting to start this challenge with me and be my accountability partner, let me know! I'm excited to give this a try and hoping 2024 will be a winning year for me!

  2. Hi and welcome! @PornFreeKo

I'm also new to the community and noticed both of us share the passion for gaming.

I've played video games more or less my entire life and still do it quite much on my spare time. I'm not struggling with watching porn taking over my passion for gaming but if a sexual act or something like that accur when I play, my thoughts can in a split of a second change from focusing on the game to thinking about porn instead and before I started my NoFap challenge (also 90 days) I had to go crank one out to be able to focus on the game again.

But I can understand your problem that you put many hours on porn instead of playing with friends can be quite hard.

I wish you luck with your NoFap challenge of 90 days and that it can change you to the better, and one day eventually you'll be able to focusing and enjoying your gaming passion again rather than watching porn.

Thanks @Operation Change ! I wish you luck also!

I hadn't really thought of gaming itself being a trigger, but it most definitely is. I feel like a lot of videogames can have romance aspects which can act as a trigger for PMOing. Basically in any kind of entertainment/media if there is something sexualized, it will immediately bring my thoughts to porn unfortunately. I'm really hoping a reboot can fix this in my head!

Thanks for the kind message and congrats on your 6 days so far!

    Thanks to you as well!

From my experience while being porn free for 116 days and haven't M&O during a whole week soon, I have already felt some slight improvement in both focus and energy. When you avoid things your brain is addicted to and instead focusing more on your passions in life, your brain will heal everyday and instead begin to enjoy the things you like to do the more you do it. That's how I feel right now and I hope you'll feel this way someday as well but it will take strong determination to be able to fight against an addiction.

Triggers are everywhere today unfortunately, movies, series, video games and social medias. About half a year ago I had to delete my account on Instagram because the filtering on Instagram is complete garbage! People can post things that in my opinion could almost count as porngraphic material and those posts made me M&O so I had to do it to be able to remove that trigger.
