    Hello fellow Fapstronauts,

I am a 21 year old male student. I have finally decided to join the NoFap programme after continually failing to deal with my porn issue. However, this process of trying to kick the habit has not been completely futile as I have learned an important lesson: It is beneficial and motivating to share stories and experiences because trying to give up porn can be a great struggle at times. So having someone to talk to and even introduce a competitive spirit into the programme brings up the elements that have, in my experience, been lacking.
So why is porn an issue for me? Well, I have been noticing some considerable impacts on my psychological and physical well being (difficulty falling asleep, lack of energy, brain fog, depression, mood swings). Instead of giving up on porn, I have indulged even deeper into the world of fetishes and fantasy which has been growing for at least 10 years now. All of this has manifested itself in my life on every possible level (studies, social relations, disinterest in hobbies I enjoyed before...). Therefore, I have now decided to give up on porn and abstain from masturbating as long as it takes (full PMO). I am highly motivated to return on the right track and stop wasting my time on stuff that drains my life energy and hope that we can find mutual support here on NoFap. So let´s get started :)
    Wishing all the best, AllRightNow

First of all welcome here. Another thing regarding mutual support HOPE is not an option here, its sort of MANDATORY. Post yourself up here and see what I mean to tell you.

You are 21, realise one thing that you have realised about your PMO problem early than many others, thats really good. Start your journey and get that posted, rest will be the magic done by fellow NoFappers. Best Of Luck

Thanks so much Collin. This is actually the first time that I have ever engaged in an online forum/community and I am already absolutely blown away by the positive feedback. CONGRATULATIONS on your 7 days streak. Keep fighting the good fight :)

Welcome to NoFap where you are amongst friends who are here to encourage you and not judge you.

What are your current strategies for combating the enemy called PMO.

Hello D . J . Well, my strategy is to keep my mind and body occupied in any meaningful way possible. So, here are some activities which should do the trick. First off, I have always been passionate about running and have taken part in some races (half-marathon. 10k, 5k...) in the last 3-4 years. The plan for the future is to try and have consistency in training so that I could compete on a more serious level. Furthermore, another passion of mine is guitar playing. When I practice or compose time just flies by. And of course studying. I am very disappointed in myself for having neglected my studies in the last 6 months. So a lot of hard work awaits me, and I´m looking forward to it. And last but definitely not least, I have withdrawn too much in myself so I´ll try to rebuild old friendships and hopefully find new ones. This is, of course, just a basic framework. I have learned that all of the above mentioned activities require consistency, but anything that is worthwhile does so I know that perseverance is the key to success. Oh, and these posts are a great way to revise good ol´ English. Cheers :)

Welcome! A good read so far. I recommend making a plan of where you want to go, do some research on porn addiction and urges (nothing too deep haha a light read), you already have distractions lined up, and perhaps look into an accountability partner. I believe in you mate. you're among good people here who have your back and want you to succeed :)

Hey Andy, thanks for the kind words, appreciate it greatly. I´ve been reading your journal and it´s truly inspiring. My greatest streak before NoFap has been 9 days and seeing you are nearing your 50th is making me feel true joy and motivation.
