Does anyone else find these social media platforms to be incredibly triggering? I don't even know how this kind of media is acceptable in society. Snapchat has a "Featured" section showcasing stories from various news and entertainment outlets. Much of them appeal to people's sexual cravings. For example, DailyMail, Cosmopolitan and People constantly post pictures of half naked celebrities etc and it makes you want to MO!! And you can't turn this feature off!!! Instagram at this point isn't the year is FLOODED with girls in bikinis. A common trend is to take a picture of your ass or your body or otherwise and post it on the internet! Photos of 17 and 18 year old girls in bikinis is incredibly triggering to me so I deleted the app a week ago. What do y'all think about these apps?
I actually have never had snapchat or instagram so I can't say on those. I do have Facebook and I know what you mean from that. So I have recently started only to look at it first thing in the morning when I wake up and then once again right before I go to bed. I don't allow myself to look at it during the day anymore.
Absolutely, 100% triggering. I have neither of those apps on my phone, specifically for that reason. With Instagram, I can do a search of exactly the kind of woman I'm attracted to, and I'll get hundreds of pictures in return. It's not porn, but it might as well be.
I deleted my instagram account (closest one to Facebook) and it's a HUGE HELP. I recommend disabling Facebook unless you really need it for communication. I still use Snapchat to communicate with others but I'm slowly transferring over to just text. I think that's the smartest decision for me.
