I have a private tumblr page where I repost porn that I see on tumblr that I like. Should I delete this tumblr? Or just take a break from it?

From what I have seen on your brain on porn, internet porn is not good at all and should be avoided. So I was thinking about deleting. It is hard though cause of all the sexiness there.
Tumblr is hard because even though it is great feeling, it is a never ending dopamine spiral of novelty and the next girl. I guess I should delete it. Crap.

I don’t have a moral obligation to porn but if it is jacking my brain up, I guess it is evil.

I deleted one of them. My other one is basically a backup of my usb drive collection. I don’t want to delete that one but I feel I probably should because this an easy trigger for an hours long session of porn exploration.

I can delete the tumblrs no problem but my usb collection goes back to the 90s. That would be difficult.

I have deleted all porn in the past but when I fall back in, I just recreate it.

Maybe I can make a rule. No internet porn. Usb pics can stay locked up.

It is a big step and a very difficult one. All the best in contemplating this decision. Perhaps a pros and cons list would help bring some clarity on what to do.

Perhaps it is like the one who struggles with alcohol and keeps a bar stocked with his best booze locked up in their cabin hidden in the woods. That person knows any alcohol will hurt them but yet it has brought so much pleasure to his life amidst the harmful consequences. It would be silly the one person thinks to waste so much good booze and throw it in the trash. Why not save it for a future date when recovery is in grasp.

The question is, what is the point of saving all these booze and hiding it in a cabin if in the end going back to the cabin brings a great threat to his recovery. What benefit could it possibly bring if he returns to the cabin to have a few drinks? The risk is to return to the misery they started from.

Is the compromise worth jeapordizing the recovery?

There is not an easy solution here. You are doing a wonderful job to even think about this.

I’m thinking about keeping the usb for the 90 days just in case it doesn’t make much difference to make my life better no PMO. Perhaps in 90 days I will reassess it.

I plan to put it in a storage unit across town to make it more difficult to access. However the usb isn’t my issue. It is tumblr, bing images, websites etc.

Depends on whether you plan to still use it or not! It's that simple.
That's the case for most of us here. Even if you delete all your favorite eye candy, the constant availability is one thing which makes our candy addiction harder to quit than quite a few other addictions (as most users who did both report). But, good news, you are not alone! This site and community is a huge help in gaining control over your darker side.

True. The problem I have is that I can get rid of everything. But 5 min later, I can find anything and everything on someone’s tumblr page or an image search. I guess that is everyone’s problem.

OK guys, I deleted my 2 tumblr pages, my Dropbox account and went through and cleaned up any creepshot pics that I took in the past. creepshot pics never turn out for me so I don’t know why I bothered. I guess it was about the dopamine.

You cannot complete your journey if you don’t delete your porn. You will relapse eventually. That relapse will lead to a binge. Then you will be right back at square one, like me. Don’t be dumb like I was.

Thanks for the advice. I don’t think I have the guts to delete everything now. Maybe if I relapse then I will have too. I thought about getting rid of my iPad because that is my main porn source. I never watch on my phone or laptop because I can remember that one time my friend asked to use my computer to check email and I was literally freaking out that the autofill url would put a porn site each time he typed a letter and I would be embarrassed in front of my family and friends.

    I erased 90 percent though. A start.

You gotta delete it all. If you don’t you will notice your collection will start growing. It sounds like you have not hit rock bottom yet. I recommend you don’t wait for that. It is truelly depressing and embarrassing to hit rock bottom. Dumb men don’t learn from their mistakes, regular men learn from their mistakes, smart men learn from other peoples mistakes.

Delete it all, not even think about it. You will always have this thought on your head, that you have porn stashed somewhere, and you can check it whenever you want.

That same thing happened to me. I had a large collection of videos and pictures. One day I said "fuck it" and it happened. You'll do yourself a favor

    Why would you keep it?

Is your plan to go 90 days no-pmo, shout triumphantly "I'm free". Then plug in that usb drive for a quick peek (just a peek, you made it 90 days, you're in control now). And somehow moderate your porn viewing, and never binge through that whole usb and fall back into your addiction. Is that the plan?

I'm not saying you need to get rid of it right now, but if you plan on staying clean there's no reason to keep it; if you don't plan on staying clean then why bother? Maybe leave it in the storage unit for a bit until your will-power builds, then trash it.

That probably is the wise thing to do. But I guess I might have to revisit it later if the reset is successful. If I’m going to fail
Maybe a usb failure will be more controlled versus going all out and hitting the internet sites for new stuff. Just a theory though.

Porn is porn as far as I'm concerned. Whether it's something new or your old favorite doesn't seem to matter.

Possibly could be a gateway temptation to other porn. It’s difficult though.

I'm not saying it's not difficult, it is. But it's easier if you're honest with yourself and about your goals.

I feel the same about my collection. I almost don't even care to masturbate to it. I'm just hoarding and thinking about browsing it later on. I'd hate to want to masturbate and think I couldn't find some of my favorites or that I'd forgotten what I'd liked. I would also like to know something got taken down and I had what was left so I could appreciate it more.
I also feel the need to organize it all and narrow it down and get meaning from it. It's a waste of time and I could always find more to replace it. Porn only gets better and I need to learn to let go of hoarding habits.
I like creep shots because they're candid if we're thinking of the same thing. I think it's because they feel closer to real life but that's a bad look if you think about it. For one, it could mean you feel like you're the horny guy looking at a girl who you don't have permission to go further wth than that. Everyone feels that to some degree sometimes but if your porn puts you in that mindset a lot, you might feel it's who you are? Do you want make some life changes dedicated to talking/dating/sexing with beautiful women?

It's painful. But it needs to be done.

I deleted my porn stash back in Dec 2017 which was about 3Tb of material.

You simply can't keep it if you want to be free of this addiction.

No, you are just planning on failure. You can’t go into a challenge anticipating failure
