Sex during a reboot?

Discussion in 'Rebooting in a Relationship' started by Deleted Account, May 26, 2018.

  1. If I suffer from pied symptoms, would trying have real sex with my gf improve the conditions and help me to heal faster by rewiring my brain? Or will completely abstaining be better?

  2. Can you explain the second part of your answer?

IMO there is no one answer that fits all it’s different for everyone. The first major factor in that is complete honesty and you don’t mention if you have done that. Why? Because then she can help rather than unknowingly hinder recovery. If you do have sex and you have PIED she knows why that’s less pressure on you. And if you don’t want to or can’t as it hurts your reboot she knows why so this is the first thing.

The next is that generally in long term relationships it’s best to keep having sex or sharing some type of intimacy because couples that have pmo in the relationship likely already have a wedge between them and not having sex likely makes that worse. If you do have sex you must rely solely on your partner for O. You can’t use your own hand at all even during sex with her. You need to retrain your body. Many men get the chaser effect post sex and it seems the risk is higher if they use their hand during sex. For others reaching any type of O causes relapse because they so closely associate it with porn. And still others relapse if they can’t perform during sex as quickly as they think they should and either pmo to cope with that pain or say screw it clearly stopping pmo is not working (it’s been a week) and go back. So what is the answer for you? I don’t know. The only way to find out is an open honest convo with her and to try it.

Great question!! I'm fairly new to the site and I'm also trying to navigate this issue. I've also suffered from PIED symptoms for about five years now. When I first noticed them I went to my doctor but I was told I was completely healthy at all my blood work was good. He thought it was all in my head but did prescribe me some pills to help the process. The pills never worked great and was still only able to achieve about a 60 to 70% erection. At times I could achieve an erection but maintaining it was another problem. Anytime I stood up or we switch positions it would go away. That's when I stumbled onto the site and decided to give it a shot.

Over the years I had noticed that my Morningwood became pretty nonexistent. For me that was the first thing that came back after about a week. It wasn't every night but it was enough to wake me up in the middle the night so it really stuck out like a sore thumb. One thing that really surprised me was on about day 9, out of the blue while laying in bed with my wife I achieved A 100% spontaneous erection. I didn't say anything to my wife for a few minutes because although I was happy I was sure wasn't going to stay around.

Much to my surprise, after a few minutes I was still good to go. There's no way I was gonna let this go to waste. During the 9 days I had also noticed that a lot of the sensitivity had returned. It only lasted a short time but I was just so excited it happened. 100% natural and no pills! I was so pumped. My confidence was high and things were looking up. I went out of town the next day and things got tough. Relapse on day 14. I'm currently on my second attempt and sitting on day 20 but haven't had anywhere near the success as I did the first time. Little things are improving but it seems to be going much slower. MW 3 to 4 times a week but nothing serious. The wife and I still kiss and touch but that's because She's a beautiful woman and deserves some affection. During the day though I've had very little activity downstairs since the relapse. Things are looking up though so I'm still very motivated.
