Wow!, this is good information. I'm currently relapsing every two days but hopefully I will try to not touch (down there) only exception is either showering or toilet, and I will also try not to take my phone with me to the toilet.
@ghirion Nofap will give you the time and space to fight it. In particular, it would allow your brain to truly calm down and reflect about it needs to do to get out of depression. Remember the first few days are hard, even weeks, and suddenly everything becomes a lot better. Remember to stay strong on your worst days. You need to cross the threshold. Furthermore, remember to eat well, workout, and meditate.
@ghirion forgot to add: Nofap will also give great amounts of mental strength in order to fight depression. I say this because I have fought it hard and true. Indeed, the "mental gymnastics" (a phrase used by @eaglerising) that you need to do in order to counter your cravings over and over again will only make you stronger. But always, always remember to embrace the bad days and not to succumb, because it is only on bad days that you have the opportunity to beat the cravings and become stronger...
I'm even more angry knowing that these nitwits are paid to make me lose my valuables. I'm determined to completely get rid of these degenerative illness. Thank you!
I think it is important to be mindful - be in the present and examine or reflect on how your brain works. Become curious about why your brain is thinking the way it is. It can be useful to try to be in "witness" mode or see yourself from outside. Why are you doing what you do? Do not try to rely on will power. Rather take apart your addiction through understanding it. Porn addiction is a behavioral addiction like over-eating, constant snacking, social networking, chewing your finger-nails. The chemicals are internal. (In contrast, smoking, alcohol, drugs are both behavioral and chemical.) I also believe abstaining from external video stimuli is much more important than not masterbating. The orgasm is not the harmful part. The harm comes from needing more and more external stimulation.
I do a agree that pmo most certainly played a role in me losing jobs. I never did any of it on the job or anything, but the mental effects of it made me a less effective employee. The brain fog, reduced memory, learning ability, lack of focus and excessively awkward behavior caused by it made me do worse in everything I did. I am hoping that staying away and having longer streaks will allow me to succeed in my next job.
Hello, your post has motivated me a lot, I'm on my way to abandon porn forever. I still encounter some difficulties, but I have almost totally reduced its consumption. I am really happy, personally the Faith (I am a Christian) has helped me a lot. The mass media are one of the main actors that encourages young people and adults to watch porn. Sorry for my English.
This is such a powerful video, i think everyone should take a look at this and find another reason on why to quit pornography, so sad that this man realized his mistake after it was too late...
