If I've understood you correctly, when you sit down to do something meaningful, you get the urge to view porn (and therefore to masturbate).

I wonder if some mindfulness would help?

As soon as you get the urge, go quiet in your mind and simply notice the urge. Don't fight it; don't try to change it; most importantly, don't judge it. Just let it be, and become curious about it. Curious, like a scientist wondering what's happening. Be patient.

When you do this, it's likely that the feeling will gradually fade, and some new feeling will replace it. Keep doing this until either you get an insight or you feel motivated to do something — anything — constructive.

I, too, found myself craving for lust and fantasizing while reading a book on finances for example. It's like a subconscious autonomous inertia developed from the "old" PMO-Lust deceitful habit that is, I think, dissipating through abstinence.

I personally found writing and composing music to be a good outlet to craft the sexual urges like that, along with spending time in a natural environment. Sexuality is also the power of life that humans possess. Its sublimation is designated by aiming it and applying it to a higher purpose than a lustful deceitful immediate gratification, like a social status or financial one or independence.

It's a shame schools don't teach that !
