@TheLinari, nice score. I'm trying to read more than one book a month but I was a bit pressed for time because of work. However, I read multiple books at the same time, so I may finish several in the same month :D

Thanks! I have also experienced a similar problem with time. I am getting more and more busy and reading is becoming difficult. But I know I have to buy out time. And your comment just reminded me to continue with my reading!

I can't keep up the pace with you, @TheLinari. In the past I would feel bad about it. However, I still enjoy this race. Currently, I'm a bit overwhelmed by my workload. I need to do some work tasks after work or I feel too tired or too anxious to read.
"Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself" is the game changer for me. It encouraged me to meditate regularly and it proposed several techniques that seem to slowly. For several days I've been trying to reduce / "unlearn" anxiety. However, the book is constructed in a way so that the reader needs to some stage in particular order so as to move further. So currently I need to stop reading it for a week to see the effects.

"1984" is a bit extraordinary book, a bit scary and pessimistic, so I only read it when my mood is stable and I sometimes I don't feel like reading it.

There are two other novels that I treat as an escape from reality but sometimes PMO has a stronger pull.

Yet, I'm determined to complete them this month, so that I have the stats of one book a month at least. Anyway, I'm impressed by your reading speed and nofap counter.

The most important thing for me is application when reading a book. And guess what you are making an application of Break the Habit of Being Yourself, a book that I really want to read this quarter. I like Joe Dispenza's work. I watched his series on Gaia TV sometime last year.

I can read more now because my work responsibilities have reduced significantly this month. I am also single. I have an hour every day to read.

The books that I have read and still reading on porn addiction have played a significant role in my current streak. I am also enrolled in a Christian porn recovery program called the Freedom Fight which has worked wonders in helping me battle porn daily. I can't take full credit for my current streak. I have had to learn so many new strategies to handle this insidious addiction.

I have not read '1984'. I will check out its synopsis and decide whether to read it.

I've read several books on PMO addiction. However, they didn't stick with me. The most impactful were books on psychology because my resets are triggered by anxiety, low self-esteem, stress and poor social skills (but I've learned to spot toxic people who were disguised as friends and I learned not to take criticism to heart as often it was not constructive but usually reflected the fears of those people; I also needed to learn to deal with being bullied at work and it turns out that the more fragile and down you look the more people want to take advantage of you - make fun, play tricks; when I started to act more confidently - even just pretending or trying to look calm and assertive - the bullying stopped or significantly reduced).

I'd like to read more books about inner child and procrastination because it often paralyzes me. I'm trying to be more religious in my nofap attempts as well.

Great book. It showed me how I neglect my own needs and sacrifice them for other people's needs, especially those of women.

I agree 100%. It is an excellent book. This is the main book I am reading at the moment. It is as if the author followed me around with a camera because it describes my self sacrificing behavior so well. It also describes the kind of anger and resentment I harbor. It is hard to admit that I am a 'Nice Guy'.

I'm a nice guy as well. However, not all these books say what some podcasts on youTube do.

There are always two sides of a coin.
Our coping strategies serve some point and to some extent they succeed. Being a nice guy may seem a failed strategy but people like nice guys and they are easy to get along with. I guess the best strategy is the right balance. You can't be too nice and sometimes you need to put your down but you can't stand up to everybody all the time just because you want to try to avoid being a nice guy. :D

You are right about finding balance. The other side of being too abrasive or aggressive is being a jerk. I certainly don't want that. For me, I am on the extreme end of being too nice. So I have to find the middle ground in this issue or at the very least start standing up for myself more often.

When I wanted to have a gf, I did my best to be nice and I worked on myself a lot. Now that I am married, I need to work on myself for myself. Did you hear this saying?
