It's a coping mechanism. Yes, you do it to regulate stress, emotions and thoughts that create distress. It's a numbing agent like alcohol, it numbs your emotional pain for a moment. But, it goes much, much deeper than this.

 

^ I'd even question the "beautiful woman" part of that because the choices someone makes in their life make someone beautiful as much as a ton of extensions, makeup, plastic and flattering lighting. You're fapping to someone who f's a lot of people for money and fakes it all the way to the bank, kinda gross. I don't think most people would truly want to date a porn star IRL, they call them suitcase pimps. They carry their bags on set and wipe the c*m off their faces because everyone on set is calling them gross when the scene wraps. But, ah, you know.. P makes us "suspend disbelief" and warps us into thinking that might be a good idea, so who knows...
