Hey everyone! Perhaps not all of you know this, but there is a way to blacklist certain tags on Steam so that certain video games become less likely to appear on your store page. I only just discovered this yesterday so I thought I'd share it, especially considering Alexander's recent post about Steam selling porn games openly on their store. Here's what you got to do: 1. Open up your Steam application (normal mode, not big-picture). 2. Look at the top right corner of the application. Your Steam account name should be there. Click on it and there should be a drop down menu. Click on "Preferences". 3. On this page, uncheck the box that says "Show products with frequent nudity or sexual content". When you uncheck this box, the vast majority of overtly triggering games (hentai/erotic visual novels particularly) will not show on your store front page anymore. 4. (Optional) - If there is anything else particularly triggering for you, go to the Tags to Filter Out section on the page and add any tags that may trigger you to relapse. For example, you might want to add the tag "Anime" in case anime art style pictures are a trigger point. Just want to note here - this does not completely stop you from being able to view products on Steam with sexual content. Your recovery process is still dependent on you and the daily decision you make to not give in and PMO. It does make viewing the Steam front page a lot easier though. Steam does not do a great job in letting you know you can do this, so I hope someone at least finds this useful.
Virtually NO ONE knows about this page. I've searched several times for a way to turn off Early Access, and I could never find it. And yet here it is. Thank you so much!
