Disclaimer: Just to make this clear, I am not responsible for any health problems you generate from anything I mentioned in this post. You are responsible for taking speculation for advice (which I caution against if you do not know what you are doing). Ask your doctor about this if you have any existing health conditions. I am not a doctor or nutritionist, I am just enthusiastic about my own health and hope that you may gain some insight from my thoughts about the subject. Thank you.

Edit (9/12/16, 10:45 PM): Eat your bananas for Potassium. Start with 1 banana/day (each whole banana contains around 400-500mg). Don't eat it at night unless you like night woods.

Edit (9/10/16, 5:07 AM): Taking 2, 99mg pills of Potassium before sleeping was a bad idea and I do not recommend it. I figured after taking it with Zinc and Magnesium that it would help me sleep. But, I think I figured this one out. So, about 30 minutes following my ingestion of the pills, I had to urinate (I drank too much liquid). The ironic problem was at the time, is that I was semi-phallic at the time. It wasn't a total rise to justice, it was a lazy diving board equivalent. Nonetheless, it was... very difficult to finish my duty, but after some time the deed was done. I then lay in my bed to go to sleep, but I have a difficult time doing so. I don't understand, I was tired enough to fall asleep in 5-10 minutes, but something was preventing me from doing so. I read that Potassium aids in blood flow by relaxing the blood vessels and thereby allow more blood to flow through. I certainly felt relaxed, but that would also explain how awake I was because more blood flowed to my brain! An different article explained how Potassium may "make you smarter" somehow, and that fits the description perfectly. Why do some people supplement with Ginkgo Biloba? Because it aids in blood flow, so that the brain gets the nutrients it needs to run efficiently and effectively! Though I questioned my decision to take Potassium before bed, I honestly couldn't find that much information on when to take it. Though I did not wake up with the classic morning wood, I did have extremely vivid dreams. I attribute this to the increase of blood flow to the brain, and other factors.

However, consuming more salt would counteract the effects of Potassium, and potentially give you hyperglycemia. There's more information on the web about this, and so my single sentence summary attempt may have been written poorly and you should not count on it.

Edit (9/10/16 @5:06 AM, 9/9/16 @9:53 AM): I did a little more research and discovered that the RDA for men is 4.7g/day. That's equivalent to 4,700 mg/day. You can get around 400 mg from 1 banana and more from fruits and vegetables. But, apparently there is a regulation for Potassium supplements that allows companies to put only 99mg MAXIMUM in a single pill. After doing additional reading, I found out that you get most of it from your food, and the supplement should help with the rest, though most people still don't meet this dietary guideline. I bought my own Potassium pills today for $7.00/100 count. According to some nutrition information online, I found that your ratio for Potassium to Salt should be greater, somewhere along the lines of 3:1 or 2:1. In America, salt consumption is very high which results in hypertension, aka high blood pressure. Then, of all supplements, why does the FDA regulate Potassium to 99mg per pill? In the FDA's defense, overdosing on Potassium may kill you, though I haven't discovered any studies to support this statement. It is speculated that the supplement would release too much Potassium quickly and destroy your gastrointestinal tissue (stomach and intestinal lining). Anyways, I took 2 pills tonight and will keep you posted tomorrow.

Edit (10:11 AM): Took a nap because I woke up too early. Slept beautifully and woke up with, that's right you guessed it, another mini morning wood. Coincidence? I think not! This is very exciting and I will keep you posted! Oh and I just realized that this is basic in nutrition that sodium and potassium work together to help the blood flow... You can look it up.

So, I decided to take my Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium supplement last night because I remembered having looser muscles after taking it. I've gotten two 30 minute foot reflexologies with 20 minute shoulder massages over the past 2 weeks to help me de-stress. Yesterday was my second session, and the therapist working on my feet told me that certain parts of my feet indicated parts of my body may have problems. Both this therapist and the one in my previous session told me that my "Head, Neck, Shoulders, Lower Back... etc." were very tight. But, then I realized that it may not be from stress or other things because although I've been stressing out from school and life, I didn't have any severe problems with the other corresponding parts of my body. I do blame most of the tightness from my body to be from sitting down in front of my computer for hours at a time without getting up to stretch, but I don't really keep track of that. So, I assumed that I was simply deficient in certain minerals, but which ones are responsible for function of my muscles?

Magnesium helps relax muscles, detoxify the body, and several other reactions that occur in the body. Zinc helps repair things, help with reactions in the body, and your reproductive systems. Potassium, also an electrolyte, helps prevent cramps (bananas yo), and apparently, helps with your circulation. ED is directly influenced by how quickly your blood fills phallus. Maybe your blood vessels are narrow, or maybe your heart isn't pumping blood to the site quick enough for it to rise. Potassium is supposedly responsible for the latter. While I don't think I produce as much testosterone as my peers, I felt something different this morning. I had a mini morning wood unaccompanied by triggering thoughts. Maybe I'm onto something.

I'm planning on trying a higher quality version of Potassium (higher absorption) today after I buy it. For minerals, I know that citrates are absorbed better than cheaper quality forms. There are higher absorbing versions available too, but then you're paying for the tier increase which can be more than you've bargained for at a small increase in absorption. Though I've been hearing a lot about transdermal absorption too because it bypasses the digestive tract and can be directly absorbed into the bloodstream... I'll leave that decision at your own discretion. If my hypothesis is correct, then supplementing with Potassium Citrate (99mg I think) should increase the frequency of morning wood acquisition. If you can't find it in citrate form, I'm sure other forms will still be helpful (though not well absorbed as the former).

This topic definitely warrants further investigation into the subject that I highly recommend you doing if ED is something you are experiencing. Mineral deficiency is a serious health problem that most people don't know about and I implore you to check it out, especially if you want to improve your diet. Like I said in my disclaimer, I am not a doctor nor a nutritionist, so any questions related to the subject of health is limited to my novice nutritional knowledge. Please keep that in mind before asking me questions. I'll keep an eye on this thread, but I will not go into detail about things not pertaining to the topic on the effects of Potassium on humans.

    All the best.
