It's been a long while since I have been to porn sites and I am glad for that but there is this one thing that has always stuck in my mind from those days. It was how many of the girls had piercings and tattoos. The hardcore ones had more tattoos and many of these seemed to be associated with either some symbol of strength or they seem to show something associated with pain. I always wondered if this was the girls' way of representing their own feelings about what they did for a living. Anybody else have similiar thoughts? Or am I just oversimplifying.
I agree with you man, but I can see things from a different perspective also. The main reason pornstars do it is likely aesthetic, obviously putting on a bunny on your bottom is going to attract more attention down there, and so they might end up making more money that way. It also could just be their way of expressing themselves (as the OP suggested).
it's funny how when Tattooing originally started, it was to make it known which "tribe" you belonged too..... fast forward to the war time, you got a Tattoo in the Navy or Army so people could recognise who you were if you lost a limb or died.... then fast forward to that, Tattoos were used by criminals/gangs, also circus freaks.... now in today's society, you're a freak if you don't have a tattoo.... just show's you how conformity has embedded itself in the collective. Tattoos do not show any uniqueness to me.
Unique doesn't always mean good. Actually I think most people are still fat or skinny fat with no ink. They just blend into the background.
Don't hate me but I've always seen tattoos as being for people who aren't super classy. This impression has been reinforced by people I worked with in the military, where many or most of the enlisted guys have large tattoos, divorces are common, alcoholism is rampant, swearing is abundant, and people don't have college degrees. I see the pornography thing as an extension of that. These are not very classy women. I'm not saying that people who have tattoos aren't really nice people or really good people. Many of them are. I am saying, though, that tattoos often suggest low socioeconomic status, low education, rough backgrounds, etc., and it would not surprise me whatsoever that many of the people in porn fit that description.
I don't have a any tattoos but I have my right nostril and septum pierced. Which I got after I started nofap, I always loved the look and enjoyed the fact that it's actually apart of my culture. But mostly self expression and the look of course art comes in many forms, I suppose it's different for everyone. Maybe one day I'll get one maybe not. If I were to get a tattoo it would be small, smooth and detailed. Something on my ankle or in a more private area since it would be more for me. But I prefer just my two piercings adorned with delicate rose gold with opal jewelry. All about preference
A good discussion. Personally I like seeing tatts on people as long as it is something more unique than say, a name or a bunny. Asian tattoos are amazing works of art. I should have clarified when I started this that I have nothing against body art although piercings do put me off but that is just me. I love tatts and I have somethimes thought of getting one but like somebody before me said, your body is unique and beautiful as it is. Moreover, as you go through life, you change and the tattoo you get twenty years ago may have no relevance later. I am not sure why the body art of pornstars suggests pain so strongly to me. It might be that the tattoos never seem to be something unique. Could be the number of piercings in delicate places tends to draw an especially strong reaction from me. But it always seemed that there was an element of pain or self-loathing. It certainly was instrumental in kicking the habit.
My 2 cents here, To me, those items are means for some human beings to seek more attention from others. Also, using a visible way to distinguish themselves. I can't personally stand tats or piercings on ladies. I don't find that attractive at all. When I PMO'd (im only clean for 10 days now) I ALWAYS discarded any P content displaying females with tats and/or piercing. You are NOT special by doing so Lady! Old Days P didn't display all those tats. Classy was what was selling. Also, the most annoying part. Piercing on breasts and/or or sexual organs. That is beyond me, with all due respect for these individuals that do it.... In all cases, imagine what the tats and/or piercings will look like on the lady in her 50's+???
Well, SEMANTICS! A little more glam than today I would say..I guess the content wasn't as raw as it is today...At least there was a 2 minutes worth of story line in the old P flicks!
