I agree with this, the more I watch porn the less wholesome I find myself being.

 

The majority of porn is consensual...? Nobody has ever gotten "raped" in any of the videos you've watched I can almost guarantee this. Porn websites actively target content flagged as rape and they're removed before anyone can even really sit and watch them. I agree with the other points, though.

 

Well mainstream porn itself is like people get raped since real sex has nothing to do with that perverted gymnastic. And then we replicate these rape scenes where the man use the woman as a personal pleasure while she's impotent.

 

I agree that porn makes us meaner people. Porn itself shows this by its escalation of content and genres.

One of the best ways I’ve heard it described is that watching porn is like doing online courses at a sexual predator university.

Hunting and seeking; objectification; disregard for the wellbeing of others. All of these are qualities of a predator.

 

I agree - and the more you watch the more dopamine hit you need next time…. So you watch more severe stuff. I couldn’t believe where I ended up and so pleased I’m clean now!

That’s naïve. Have you seen this thread? Not even the first time I’ve heard of stuff like that. Then you can get into the fuzziness of “consent.” I guarantee, if you’ve watched as much porn as most of these guys on the forum have, you’ve seen women who were pressured into doing more extreme things than they wanted, and/or were inebriated. Even beyond that, assuming everything was consensual, it’s a total mishandling of sex based on a misunderstanding of what it’s even for. Sex is treated as mere entertainment, by porn and pop culture in general. Reproductive and pair-bonding sex are completely ignored.

Porn dulls your emotions and twists your reality. It gives guys the totally wrong impression about what intimacy with any partner should be like. The problem is we never teach what it should be like and how it should be an expression of love and affection for our partner, an effort on both parties, not just on the man to make their partner make the noises you hear in porn. I think that is what I have had to work through the most - the unrealistic nature of it against the expression of love intimacy should be with my wife.

 

Porn stars are as complicit in their own misery as porn consumers.

Watch arround you when you are in cities, empathy does not seem to exist anymore, they are all zombies with smartphone that care only about their own stuff on internet, other people does not matter, they are atomized, there is no such thing as community. My city looks like Gotham and no one cares, there is no superhero to fight this inhuman horde.
