    Hello!

I am on my 40 day of not fapping.

Anyone here having problems with addiction to "social text based porn chat"?

FOr me that counts as porn too.

"If you have trouble abstaining from it, you are addicted to it". No matter if its images, videos or chats.

true, i believe engaging others openly to get "triggered" is just a part of the escalation process in where we need something more every time to get "high"

I would define porn as any sexual arousal to the point of losing complete focus of reality (You guys know that feeling when you turn into a zombie and you leave behind all of your morals and all of your beliefs and goals just for that slight high that fades in an instant)..

First, 40 days is great. It's good you have recognized your trigger, that puts you way out ahead of the curve. Many with a problem, and I was/am one of them, do not recognize they have a problem, let alone understand the concept of a trigger. I hesitate to use the word "lucky", but my addiction involved absolutely no human interaction, strictly porn abuse, which I believe may be slightly less addictive. Live people involve a spontaneity that might be more attractive to the addictive brain that the simple rote of watching porn vids. If that is your trigger, I suggest you block it, make it more difficult to get to, give yourself a minute when accessing it to remind yourself you are trying to quit and why. I don't know exactly what social text based porn chat is, but if it occurs on a social site, I suggest putting that site on a porn block program and simply not go there. If you are not there, or cannot get there, or cannot get there without easily surmounting the blocks you have put up, it makes accessing your trigger harder. Making accessing our triggers more difficult is one of the tools we have to quit. Continuing to use your trigger without fapping just describes edging, and edging involves releasing the brain chemicals and wiring that is the cause of this addiction. For me just looking at P releases those chemicals, I don't need to O to release them, but looking sure makes me want to. Sounds like social text based porn chat does it for you. I have blocked porn sites, I suggest you suggest the site where your trigger resides. Good luck! Thanks again for posting. Reading posts and responding is one of the tools I use to combat this problem.
