Gentlemen, In this post I am going to share with you my approach to nofap. So far I have been surprisingly (to me) successful, making it to 22 days which is of course a milestone for me. On all my previous unsuccessful attempts spanning years, I was: rationalizing, self-explaning, had domains blocked on wifi router, had browser extensions, tried to convince myself that porn is worse than it actually is to scare myself, ... You know the drill. Years later --- now --- I decided to register here and take it seriously. This is my mind state now: I am not demonizing porn internally. I am not blocking anything. I am not bad at myself. I do not associate MO with religion or anything. I am not telling my wife when was the last time "I did it". I am not telling her anything. She doesnt know about nofap. I am almost not getting urges now. However, I routinely think of this forum and of you guys. I think of your streak counters in the signatures and of my streak counter. I remember the names of those commenting on my posts. When you comment on my post, I lurk on your history to get to know you a little. I try to remember your names and consider you friends, as with any other person I know IRL. I am trying to be honest with you all on this common goal we all have. I am trying to help myself and to you. But most importantly, I compare our streaks. I am not letting you see my counter drop. Feel free to comment.
Hi I am starting on the same approach. Only 7 days in but it seems to be good so far. Sort of a mindset shift more than anything else. I too have tried to kick PMO over the years with multiple different methods always ending the same way. This time my wife also doesn't know. Just quietly doing it. Good luck man.
