I was reading "The p circuit" book, and it says "As stated before, simply avoiding p isn’t the only answer. New positive activities are needed. Keep in mind the neurological concept of “use it or lose it.” Avoid an activity and its desire will wane, pursue an activity and it will become more engrained. New and positive habits need to be introduced, and they need to be rewarding and entertaining. Yes, entertaining!" I am working out, but sometimes I don't find this entertaining, I only do it for the sake of having good health and shape. So, I decided that I will entertain my brain with video games, does this have any problem? such as recovering from p and addicting Video Games?
A lot of people might say no, however I believe it is more of an individual approach. For me I'm treating my death grip/DE and gave played video games a good while. Porn hasn't been AS big of an issue, but still was an issue. But I've always played video games as long as I can remember. I also workout, enjoy my job, basically all the other things NoFap suggests to do. Really what it comes down to is are you playing video games to escape from doing something productive or not? There is honestly nothing wrong with enjoying them a bit at the end of the day when you have done all what you needed to. However, I would not outright just play video games. Maybe try something else, redecorating your room or pick up a long lost hobby if you can. Hope this helps!
Video games stimulate the same area of the brain that sex and drugs do and can release just as much dopamine. an hour of gaming is a nice diversion. If you spending much more time than that then your just trading 1 addiction for the other.
In fact, it seems the idea on this forum is to avoid every kind of pleasure like sex, video games, alcohol, internet, tv and so on. Just being focused on job, workout, cold showers, self development...
For someone like me, who experienced extreme withdrawals such as depression, anxiety etc, video games have been a valuable tool in that they allow me to just switch off from that for a minute relax and do something else. I try to work out and do walks in nature etc but it's easy to do that when you are through the withdrawal stage and have superpowers. Until then, i see it as do whatever you have to to get away from PMO. In the back of my mind i'm already starting to think "in a few weeks i'm going to quit these games too" Don't eliminate everything at once or you'll go crazy and fail. one step at a time.
Thank you guys for all the help I really appreciate it. I decided to play games on iPhone too, any suggestions for interesting games on app store?
Man I just left the sex, video games and alcohol board on my way here. My brain feels absolutely gassed and melted the fuck out. Sometimes you have to suffer some and make sacrifices to get places. I'm miserable but I actively do want to succeed, forums are tools and come with community
Actually, I am not a gamer at all now I will just return back to the good old days for the sake of replacing porn
It's been very fulfilling so far. I've noticed I'm more motivated and want to change and improve myself. I decorated and painted my room, and I hardly think of porn anymore, if at all. I'm just trying to force myself to learn computer coding like I promised myself I would haha. Additionally I've noticed my erections are harder and more full, and they are more sensitive (I've tested to see, not successfully M'ing of course but noticing how different it feels) and the one instance I had sex it felt incredible. It only lasted for five minutes as she couldn't really handle it but it was good. I've been trying to have sex but to no avail haha. My "slip-ups" are that a girl I'm talking to lives far away and loves to send me nudes of herself. So in a way I guess I'm exposed to P but again I think this is a matter of perspective. She's someone I care for and want to be with, not some annoyingly loud fake dolled up woman having sex.
If you want to avoid porn by playing videogames, make sure the games you are playing have no suggestive characters. I used to fail badly at avoiding porn for playing games which weren't even focused on being suggestive, like World of Warcraft or Skyrim.
Hi man, Regarding your query I have to add this: Playing video games are fine as long as it's not taking more than 1 hour of your day. Yes, indeed, video games can actually guide you to pmo because if You excessively play video games for like 4 hours, you'll be bored and when you are bored the chances of you to pmo increases to 95% specially if you are playing on a laptop and it's placed on your lap, it can heat up your private part and awaken your desire. Good luck.
