    OP, this sounds like either your current "relationship" is causing you pain due to the nonexistence of monogamy, or this whole relationship business is new to you. If you're getting super attached to this chick/dude, then it's for the best that you don't bother with an open relationship. It's honestly repulsive and I recently dumped the chick that wanted it. Told her to go have fun and not bother with me.
