Many people here mention they are taking 'one day at a time' approach when dealing with PMO or depression. I was thinking I might not understand it properly. How would you define it? What it is?

  2. One day at a time? I'm not sure what you mean.

Without context, I'm assuming that it means that we have to keep moving forward: face the challenges of today and continue onto tomorrow.

It's easy to get overwhelmed if you attach yourself to the idea of reaching a certain amount of days without PMO. The approach of 'taking it one day at a time' to me means being mindful of today. I have the ability to make the choice of whether or not I PMO today. I'll likely feel stressed/depressed/anxious/mood swings or feel an urge to watch today. I don't need to worry about how I'll feel tomorrow or the next day or next week. I need to be mindful of today, right now.

I find difficult following such approach, because I always tend to see the broader picture.
