Numbers.

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by CasualMe95, Nov 1, 2013.

  1. Is the 90 days reboot just numbers or actual counting on how long it takes to reboot?

Is 90 days just something people says to give an answer to an uncertain question or is it the actual time it takes to reboot?

Can you be fully rebooted after 30, 60 days or even a year or is it 90 days that is the real time it takes for people to reboot and what scientists have concluded?

    Please explain!

It doesn't really have any meaning. I think it originated as a challenge just to mark some sort of achievement. Watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wSF82AwSDiU

The time varies depending on the intensity of your porn use. If you are born in the .com era and have had access to internet your whole life, chances are this challenge will be a lot harder for you and the reboot process will take about 180 days. I am in this category. In the Ted Talk, he says that older people will reboot much quicker.

To put things in perspective, I will tell you about me. I am 24 now and I have been doing this challenge for 2 years. I am currently on day 50 and this is the longest streak I've had my entire life. I know that it will take me 180 days to reboot because I would fap multiple times a day, EVERY SINGLE DAY before this challenge. I reached sexual maturity when I was around 11 or 12 and it was when I fapped to porn on the internet from my first computer. Back then I felt bad but over the years, I thought porn was normal. I didn't realise I was hurting myself until I saw this video.

Don't let the number discourage you. Mark 90 days on your calender and celebrate it when you reach your goal. It is a HUGE accomplishment in anyone's life.

  3. Ok, but I've since about 3 years back cut down massively on fapping. Nowdays I only fap like one or two times a day ONE day of the week (preferably friday or saturday) so its not that extreme for me.

I want to reboot completely so I am thinking about quitting it all. Fapping, porn and massively cut down on alcohol because I dont want to be that pervert who sees a hot girl outdoor and go home and jerk off to the thought.

So I think my reboot might be shorter because I haven't been on that extreme level for a couple of years and my porn consummation is mostly equal to zero because I've seen hot clips on youtube and such stuffs instead (which wasn't any nudity).

But thats just what I think, if you think I will have a full 180 days reboot time then I will take your opinion in consideration.
(Btw, I have 30 days because people says that they dont feel like watching porn or fapping when they have reached 30 days and it all becomes much easier).
