Hello Fapstronaunts! I am looking for a book that will help me with my 'NoFap.' Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.
This is on my shopping list (just not available in UK!) http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/1580083501 Also you could try 'Sexual Energy Transmutation' by Jay Onwukwe, I really enjoyed this and my son is now reading it. And there's an audio CD programme and phone app that I totally recommend called 'Taoist Sexual Secrets' by Lee Holden and Rachael Carlton Abrams. I always recommend a book called 'Changing for Good' by James Prochaska, more on that and similar here... http://www.nofap.org/forum/showthread.php?3549-Action!-or-not!!!-Have-you-actually-Prepared-for-it
Thanks for starting this thread. I'll be reading some of the already suggested books, and I'm subscribing to the updates, too.
Tis a pleasure There's a couple of us getting a LOT from this at the moment if you want to check it out... http://www.nofap.org/forum/showthread.php?3649-The-Power-of-Vulnerability
Also, and this is the first book I ever gave to my teenage son to read and will also be giving to my younger two when they're old enough, I simply cannot recommend enough 'Self-Reliance, Translated' by Adam Khan. No it's not about NoFap but my god I wish somebody would have given it me when I was younger!! You can also get the txt here http://www.youmeworks.com/self_reliance_translated.html but the book is better as it has a REALLY good additional essay at the back (and it's a book and I for one LOVE books!)
'Potatoes not Prozac' by Katherine DeMaisons Again not strictly NoFap but well worth a mention that many people with 'addictive personalities' really would be wise to investigate whether or not they are sugar sensitive... http://www.radiantrecovery.com/ And this threads is well worth a look... http://www.nofap.org/forum/showthread.php?3747-Addictive-Personality&p=21760#post21760
I finished 'Sexual Energy Transmutation' by Jay Onwukwe from jiltonjohn's post, and started to read 'Power Over Pornography' by Brian Brandenburg. I only read 26% of the book so far, but it seems useful with a lot of valid points. It is presented in the form of a dialogue between two people, and you have to do exercises. So I'll be on this book for a while.
Actually, I think that 26% is too much. I'm reading the book too quickly, while skipping all the exercises. I'm going to rewind the book back to the beginning and start reading it more carefully. It seems that the exercises could be good, though I can say nothing about their effectiveness until I actually start going through them.
Treating Pornography Addiction: The Essential Tools for Recovery , by Kevin B. Skinner Ph.D I've read it and it's excellent.
