I'm almost 25 years old and although new to this forum, I have tried quitting Porn a while back and was successful for about 18 days. I realized it failed afterwards because I was constantly thinking about the immediate results that I expected abstinence to provide.
I guess I have been addicted to the cycle of masturbation due to the lack of any actual sexual experience in my life. I masturbated to avoid thinking of how sexually deprived I was. The things that triggered me were acknowledging the relationships other people had on social media among other more evident and obvious visual triggers. I also realize masturbation as a response to these feelings create a sort of paradox that would ensure I would always be trapped in this cycle.
On this day, i.e Dec 4 2014 I'm going to give it another shot. I've read the challenges offered on this forum and I'm thinking; I've fapped for way too long, there would be no point in seeing if I can control urges for a week or a month etc. I want to give it up for good and start living and being happy again just like I was before hitting puberty and discovering porn. I must also mention that my triggers have strengthened to a point where if I abstain, I subconsciously dream of my kinkiest possible fetish that forces me respond with masturbation as I wake up.
I would really appreciate any help I can get.

    Welcome!

Here are a few things that I have been doing since partaking in the ultimate challenge which I believe have helped:

    1. Write on my journal, get a counter, and post/read others' posts on nofap several times per week.

    2. Become more open and honest with friends and family about my addiction.

    3. Have parental blocks on my electronic devices (for me this is but a short term solution but it has helped).

    4. Exercise 6 days a week 20 minutes. For me, I have been running Monday-Saturday and weight lifting intermittently at random.

    5. Eating healthy. I have been tracking my foods and trying to make my diet fit the USDA guidelines.

    6. I have become strict about meditating/praying every morning.

    7. I am checking my bank account every night and making a monthly budget to be better at personal finance
