New Joiner for Better Accountability

Hello to all the men seeking to better their lives! I've heard of the NoFap community for some time and have always appreciated the idea behind this platform.

One of the reasons I decided to join this community is to remind myself that I'm not alone in my struggle with P&M. Another is to be inspired and motivated by the success posts that I hope to hear from you all. As well as to support others with accountability as I work on reaching my own goals. Here's some background of myself in this journey...

I've been watching pornography since my early teen years, starting roughly at 13-14 years of age but, I was exposed to it at a much younger age. Initially, I saw viewing porn as an issue because of the Christian beliefs I held. With that came lots of shame and guilt for not measuring up to the standards I believed in which in turn created a 'loop' of emotions to repeat the same habits. Masturbation always occurs with porn in my situation.
Over the years I became less religious but, my thoughts on porn and its negative effects on me has never changed. I've grown a lot in the past 5 years but this habit is the one I haven't been able to shake on my own. I've had streaks of abstinence upwards of 3-4 months but that was some time ago. I understand the positive effects and still experience them when I give myself challenges to abstain. I'm hoping to be interactive with this community as I continue in my efforts in ridding pornography completely from my life.
