I'm 39 years old and new to this forum. But I'm not new to porn addiction and trying to reboot etc. I've tried several times to recover over the years. Looking back I consider these attempts as half-hearted which is why I always failed.

This new attempt to quit porn which I started about two months ago is the best one so far. I don't really know why I decided to try harder this time and not earlier. Maybe I just finally realized that things will never improve unless I do my best.

It helped a lot that after ca. two weeks after starting to reboot I started dating a very nice girl. I hadn't expected to meet anyone soon so this was a lovely surprise. We really like each other and we want this to turn into something serious.

It's an essential piece of motivation for me because I know you can't have a good, warm relationship to a woman if you're addicted to porn. I want her to be the only one in every way.

It's not easy though and on some days, like today, I feel miserable, weak and angry. And my thoughts keep trying to go back to porn all the time. But I can feel success and the more I resist, the more I feel attracted to the girl which is a very rewarding feeling. Falling in love maybe.

I came to this forum to get even more motivated because I feel connected to you guys sitting in the same boat. I hope my text helps you in some way.
