Hello guys, I'm new on this forum. Decided to join because I really want to get rid of this pornography addiction, it is damaging my life - physically and emotionally (personality). I have started to quit PMO for about two weeks now. The temptation is getting worse but I believe I can manage it. My question is that, is it considered a relapse when you have read a book that has strong sexual content? Kind of a funny question hehe. Anyway, it was deliberate (I knew it contained some stuff I shouldn't read). I didn't masturbate as a result though. Thanks.
No expert, and I feel ultimately it's your call. My understanding is that visual stimulation is a different thing. Have you looked at the TED talk on www.yourbrainonporn.com? From that I am left with the impression that the visual stimulation on high speed internet is the addiction. And, reading something sexual probably doesn't help.
I agree with chris4nj. It's your call, but I would try to avoid literature like that in the future, as it could be a trigger.
Hello, Thanks for the responses. Yes I did go to the YBOP site. I agree, I'll avoid reading stuff that will tempt me. So far all's good but the temptation, the urge to return to the habit, is getting stronger. I won't give up.
