    Hello all,

I found out about this forum on a Netflix documentary called Dark Net, so glad I stumbled across that.

I've struggled with varying sex and porn addiction (including online chatrooms etc) for maybe 20 years (I'm 29 now) and, as I've read on many of the posts here, it has become more extreme and frankly downright dangerous over time.

I'm married with 2 kids and a good career and I know I risk all of that every time I engage in PMO. I'm now on day 5 of my first ever reboot attempt, I've also gone to my doctors and been prescribed antidepressants and have got some contact info for CBT / talking therapy which I hope will also help.

Reading through the success stories gives me a lot of hope for the future, and it is honestly so wonderful to find this community. Feeling alone in it all is terrible and knowing there are many others going through this process is a very relieving feeling.

I am of course worried about relapsing but with the support of this group and my insanely patient wife (honestly do not understand how she is still with me after some of the things I've done!) I know I can do this.

Looking forward to becoming part of this community.

  2. Hi NigelSheldon! I’m really glad you’ve taken action towards abstaining from PMO, it’s a very brave commitment to make. The community aspect of NoFap is genuinely beneficial and it’s so important to maintain a positive and encouraging mindset!
I’m not sure whether or not you’ve considered starting a journal of your progress, or if you’d rather post sporadically but it’s helpful to keep track of all your progress, as well as providing some form of accountability, if that’s something you feel could motivate you.
Stay positive! We’re all behind you! Good luck. :)
