Need help with chaser effect

    Hey, so I relapsed yesterday morning at 3:30am then again at 3:17pm then decided to fight the chaser effect and get my streak back on track but it's still getting to me, still getting really bad urges to PMO and thoughts like "once more won't matter, I only relapsed yesterday" trying my best to fight it but it quite difficult, any tips?? Thanks.

    Same old tips. Just go for a walk when you get those urges, take a cold shower, meditate, but get off of your computer and don't watch tv when you get these urges.

    with cold showers, does it count if you turn the temp down so it's cold but not all way down cause the water here is friggin' freezing and I'll probably turn to ice lol

    I go as cold as I can go, but that's not very cold. I go to a temperature that gives me goosebumps and makes my fingers go numb if they're what's being hit by the water.

    You do whatever is cold enough. You know your body's limits more than anyone else.

    I just had a cold shower as cold as it would go, safe to say I screamed like a little girl then ran out after 30 secs shivering and chattering my teeth. Urge defeated :D

    Lol. Congrats man! Ya, can't really jerk off to something when your pal disappears like a slug's eye :p lol. I like to listen to work out music when I take my showers and breathe and pump myself up like a guy doing his last few reps at a PR lol

    I was getting pumped up like "yeah I got this baby" then jumped in and still screamed like a little girl :emoji_joy:. Did the job though so tomorrow I will aim for 1 minute then hopefully my willpower will be amazing after a while. Think I will try the work out music tomorrow and see if that provides the motivation to suffer :emoji_muscle:

    So what I do, I don't know how other people do it, but I set the temp to luke warm, hop in when it's still cold, warms up a bit, then I turn it down as far as it'll go, then stay in there for 5-10 minutes. I usually wash my hair at the luke warm temp because I get cold headaches if I wash my at a cold temp.

    yeah brain freeze!! I got that lol I looked up info before I got in and this guy recommended to just go in head first so the water goes down the back of your neck cause that's the worst bit so I did that and he weren't wrong lol

    Yeah. First time sucks. I do the splash bits of cold water trick cause I'm a little bitch lol. It works though. I say about the 5th time you do cold showers, even though your body is telling you no, they aren't bad. More like "all right. I'm cold. Gotta do what I gotta do!" Congrats again, it only gets easier!

    This chaser effect has had its impact on my nofap journey as well. I masturbate to my heart's content after a NoFap period of around 7-10 days. This phenomenon has happened in my journey on numerous occasions. Friends please suggest ways to overcome this chaser effect.

    I was doing the splashing lmao I did notice even though I failed staying in for 5 minutes, I felt a lot better and instead of being negative I just thought "well it's my first time, I can only improve my time in there"

    I'm the same, we really need to try not relapsing in the first place but in case of emergency you need to be ready to deal with the chaser effect. I had a cold shower like we've been talking about above and that really helped me even though it was brutally painful lol no urges now, just chilling and gonna get uni work done soon. Good luck

    Unfortunately relapsed on 4th day. Needs to exercise caution so that I don't get carried away by chaser effect.

    Yeah I relapsed then the chaser effect was hitting me for a few days, finally got control of it so I'm 17 and half hours free so far. Need to make sure I don't relapse again
