    HI,
    I really need your help.
I am 37 years old and used P for almost 20 years.
In my twenties I used it more (5-6 times a week) than in my thirties (2-3 times a week), so I think I am not a hardcore addict, I guess.
Anyway, I am currently 70-80 days PMO free and since the 3rd week I feel like I am in a flatline, severe depressed, anxiety attacks etc. Some days between were good, but mostly I feel like shit.
What concerns me is the duration of feeling shitty. I see people being mega happy after 30-60 days, but I still suffer a lot...
Has anybody gone through that same shit?

Yes. Look for the thread about P.A.W.S.

Thanks Dave, I have already gone through those threads, but is it really possible to feel depressed for such a long time. I mean we talk about let's say 2 month being in that state.

Who said anything about feeling depressed? I'm just exhausted.

Of course, we may not be talking about PAWS as such; it could be post-orgasm illness. Or in other words, just too much of a "good thing" for too long. If you don't mind me asking, what are you uncertain about?

How are you doing in other areas of your life? Is it possible that something other than P addiction is contributing or causing your current state?

  7. How long are you on nofap?
    What's your longest streak?
Did you use p to mo or just P alone?

As the title says: 70-80 days PMO of free meanwhile...no P, no M, no O.
I have tried nofap before and one time already reached 90 days...but then failed/relapsed because I was too horny. I cannot remember having these symptons back then. I had a flatline indeed, but was not so severe as it is now.

@Candun, my life is not perfect, but I workout, meditate, socialize, eat well etc. I may have some other underlying issues aswell but at I was able to keep them unter control so that the depressed feelings weren't that harsh. In other words, now I feel more depressed than before and this is going on for 60 days now...
If depression was 30% before, not it's 80%.
So the question is it normal still to feel that intense depression close to 90 days???

What's your purpose? What steps are taking towards reaching it? Without purpose, life is depressing, and all PMO can do is put a haze over that reality. Now you're off of it, you're confronted with the tough questions head on.

Hi, right, I didn't realise depression was the main problem. I've noticed with age that it takes longer to recover from a relapse, regardless of the symptoms we're talking about. A relapse I may have got over in a coupe of weeks in my 30's takes months now (I'm 50). I don't think that this is purely down to the aging process of the human body, but also the effect of additional mileage accumulated (ie relapses) in the meantime, which can have an increasingly disproportionate effect. I may be wrong, but my take on your situation is that your depression may be worse, and will take longer to recover from, as a result of increased age and mileage compared to when you were younger, and more resilient.

I know this may sound simplistic, but just stick with hardmode and hang in there. If you are anything like me, you will still start to recover as long as you don't relapse - but timescale is difficult to predict. I think it is easy to under-estimate just how profoundly long-term PMO can f*ck up mental and physical health.

  11. I think the more you relapse the further you are from recovering even if you're early 20's. For example, say you pmo every 10 days and it'd take the same day to get better. Now you keep relapsing, it will add 5 more days to get better. Next time you do it, 5 more and 10 more.... You get my point.....
