my progress is about to relapse ! help

    i keep imagining temptations while sleeping .... i feel like im going to relapse soon but i really don't want to this time because i am really giving it my all . i'll pray today and hopefully it would help , yesterday i took a cold shower and it really helped and i just broke up with my gf so i'm not feeling that good but really not affected by her ,however i feel that i'll avoid these temptations more by not talking to girls a lot and my weakest part is sleep time , i really want to control myself ! i never want to go back to doing this and this is 6th day

    I have dreams where I think I've relapsed then I wake up with regret, no way to change these AFAIK. Just have to let them pass, as they're just withdrawals.

    Try to get to sleep early and wake up early. Maybe make cold showers a daily habit too.

  3. Using dreams are quite common for people in recovery and it's something that addicts of all persuasions have to deal with. I was both a porn addict and a drug addict and even after 3 years of sobriety i still get them from time to time. Some of them are very lucid and scary but i am grateful when i wake up and realise it was just a dream. A way of dealing with it for me is to pause for a few moments when i've woken up and reflect on the past years i haven't used for and take pride in the fact i've remained sober, even if you've managed a day it's better than 0 days, so you have something to be proud of. We can't really control what we dream about since it is our deep subconscious mind but we can control our actions when we are awake and using all of our mental faculties.

    My wife left me, so I feel your pain! I’ve also had some sex dreams so I can relate there too.

    Good job on the prayer.

    What’s worked for me is daily meditation, prayer and journaling. Also reaching out to others at SAA meetings and on here. The most important is rigorous self honesty.
