The longest I can remember being PMO free over the past 15 years is 14 days. I accomplished this feat about 3 months ago and it felt amazing. I've relapsed since then and I'm finding myself in a deeper hole than before. I've really been trying to kick this addiction for the past 8 years. Trying really hard. Around 2 years ago I nearly lost all hope. I was planning how I would end my life. I'm glad to say I got thru that battle victoriously. However, I still struggle with self-confidence and purpose. I hate what porn has done to me. I can see how it destroys my life, yet I can't overcome it. It nearly ended the relationship with my girlfriend who I'm proposing to in three weeks! I'm worried if I don't succeed now, it will destroy our marriage in the future. I've tried going to counselors and having friends keep me accountable. I know that my success in overcoming porn ultimately comes down to how much effort I want to put into it. I need accountability from those with the same struggles and who are winning the battle. I'll never give up fighting this war. I'm hopeful that the people I meet on here will be my fellow soldiers and that we can kill this destructive force in our lives and in the world.

Welcome to the community. You will find a ton of support here.

Some of the things I recommend:

    - Start a journal in the appropriate section.
    - Create a set of rules for your reboot along with some goals.
    - Create a plan of action that you can enact immediately without thinking when you feel
triggered. This can save precious seconds.
    - Identify your triggers. If you know what they are, then you can start your plan of action before
    you become very triggered.
    - While you are journaling, make sure that you analyze your thoughts and feelings on a daily basis. Ususally, you can discover things about yourself that can help you be successful.

Now if you do relapse, don't be hard on yourself. Learn from the experience, analyze and change your plan of action. Then you can consider yourself successful as well. Remember, take one day at a time and be patient. This is a long and difficult journey but one well worth taking. It is encouraging that you are realizing you have this issue at such a young age. Your future self will thank you for taking this step.

There are also some links in my signature that will help you get started as well (For tablets/mobile devices you may have to turn it sideways to see the signature). I hope this helps. Stay strong!

Welcome to NoFap where you are amongst friends who are here to encourage you and sometimes challenge you but not judge you.

    How are you progressing today?

What are your current strategies for combating the enemy called PMO?

DJ thank you for asking this question. I need to put into action a game plan for when the I have no will power left. I've always tried to abstain from PMO by recalling memorable quotes that give me encouragement. However, this isn't fail proof and I need something that is.

My plan of action as of now is to take a peek at the engagement ring I have for my girlfriend. That will help remind me of how important my relationship status is! After I propose in a couple weeks I'll need to think of another tactic.
