Most people fail because they deal in absolutes

They believe that unless they go on a perfect record without any "relapse", then everything is pointless. They believe that if they absent from porn and masturbation for 4 weeks, for example, and then, relapse, all those 4 week are into the trash. This is not how the brain works. The progress you made is not suddenly undone.

This is where many fail. They deal in absolutes. It's either perfection or nothing. Unless you naturally have low libido and testosterone, you won't be able to abstain forever. Humans were not designed to abstain from masturbation and release.

Humans have been masturbating for thousands of years.

You punish yourself for relapsing and see yourself as a failure. Your goal should not be to quit masturbation and porn for life. It should be to have it under control.

Ideally, you want to limit masturbation and porn to once a week and go from there. This would allow you to have a "cheat meal" which will make your "diet" more doable.

If you go in like a dumbass going from fapping 3 times a day to porn to nothing at all, you will fail.

Masturbating once a week, ideally, the Saturdays, will allow you to have something to look forward to during the week. Also, the Saturdays are the days when you are more likely to hook up with a female. After 7 days of not releasing, your erection and ejaculation power will be at its maximum without increasing the risk of premature ejaculation.

Saturdays is also the day when you are more likely to feel down and depressed. The ejaculation will help relieve stress.

The longer you go without masturbation and release, the more prone you will be to premature ejaculation with a real female. Is this what you want? What's the point of abstaining so much if you are gonna fail in the bedroom.

I still remember when I went more than a month without ejaculating. I had sex with a girl, as soon as I put it in, I already ejaculated lmao

In addition, you are more likely to fail if you do a super strict "diet" of NoFap, rather than allowing cheat meals. My program with a cheat meal once a week, moving to every 2 week, will allow you to see improvements in your mental state and sex life, without possibly becoming a speedy gonzales.

Even if you binge or cheat meal more than you were supposed, as long as you keep with the diet, you will still see improvements in the long haul.

  2. I don't agree. Of course you shouldn't beat yourself horribly for relapsing. Often the guilt causes one to go on a binge, so guilt is useless. I had to get rid of that too (I once achieved 90+ btw.) But the idea of a cheat meal I don't think it's helpful. What really works, imo, is start small. You never get past 2 day? Make your next goal 3 days, but then when you achieve that DON'T relapse and go for an extra 5 days, and so on. Before you know it you will be in 30, 50 then 90+. Just my 2cents.

For first try nobody will achieve 90 days, its obvious. My current is at least the 10th+ try. Ive tried the way you say too,and after it becomes worse, trust me. Chaser effect and so on. Its not good, only good is to put it down once and for all.
