MO-ing without P. Is it possible?

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Deleted Account, Mar 10, 2015.

  1. I have a question for you guys. Has actually anyone managed to keep MO-ing without watching P or anything else arousal for an extended period of time, after the reboot?

I know I have eventually turned back to porn after the first 90 days when I decided to keep MO-ing.

I ask this, because in theory, one could keep on MO-ing without P, but in practice, I have a feeling that maybe MO and P are so closely connected in our brains, that excercising one, will inevitably lead to the other. That happened in my case, and I may not be the only one.

Is keeping MO without eventually turning back to P plausible, or it's just a myth?
    What do you guys think?

MO'ing did lead to relapse eventually every single time until I changed my thoughts!
You have to understand and break the bond mentally. Unless you sill think that Mo'ing can lead to P it surely will. And even when I MO its just a release and NO SEXUAL THOUGHTS AT ALL! Might sound untrue but it really is the truth. If still you are addicted to MO too like you cant live without it then thats a problem. Even when I get urges to MO I can control them blindly but P used to trigger something hard in me which now I see is depleting too!
My relapse take place due to the fear of going long days without P! Whenever I see those long streak posts it triggers a scare in me that "How the hell am I gonna do that?" but I really am setting myself free now and know that its not much of a problem at all!

My question is why the need to masterbate at all? I don't get the whole 'maintain a regular cycle' or 'we need to release'. Not masterbating won't cause us harm and we should use our sexual energies with real life partners.

I can certainly say you can MO without P since I am old enough to have been doing that for decades before P was so available. I have of course used P since an early age (magazine when available). For all of those years it was either fantasy (early years they were totally made up characters or someone I met and made them into a character). Then you'd see some P in a magazine and could use that for fantasy material. Later with the advent of MTV you would use video vixens. See the pattern here, you build a cache of sexual imagines and use them to excite you and MO. In a sense, we are always Moing to P, either direct use or via memory. Now the very bad and addictive thing with today's broadband P is unlimited, free, and non stop variety. You did not have that not too long ago. So you'd MO and be done with it and move onto other things. In the past I have MOed to nothing, meaning no P or fantasy. I was just really into MOing and the sensations of MOing and my penis. When I discovered Abolene I could easily just MO to nothing but the stimulation of my penis and be thinking about nothing else but how good it felt just stroking my penis was.

Bottom line is yes you can. My advice though is not after a P addiction, at least not until you have completely rebooted. You have to separate the P from the MO. That will take some time. I have given up both. I feel that MO interferes with my natural desire for my wife. Meaning, when I abstain I want her really badly, if I were to MO then that desire will go away. In other words, I save myself for her, not for my selfish desire but for my desire for her.

  5. Thanks for the comments guys. Based on what jbastoniv just said, I tend to think that the answer is a "no". I mean that MO-ing without P after you abused high speed internet porn is not possible.

The reason why I asked this, is because I had no idea why I return to porn after like 100 days being clean, and I'm just searching for an adequate answer.

I like that way of thinking that you are saving your sex drive for her and not the selfish act of masturbation.

  7. Yeah FreedomFlight, you're probably right. Indeed I was just going for a "streak" but did not change anything else in my life. Now, the situation has changed and I'm also better equipped than I was before.

Don't misunderstand me, or the original question. I was really curious if there is someone who actually managed to MO without P after a reboot. Because I saw a lot of threads and opinions like "I'll never watch porn but I'll keep MO-ing" and I think that it is not possible, and it's just some sort of rationalisation.

  8. Yes, one can MO without porn.
I don't have a problem with porn. I quit that in about a year after starting, around 14.
But I continued a routine of nighttime masturbation. (19 now)
I'm here for a Nofap challenge, not not using porn.

it is partly cuz you are all being poisoned, that is causing hypersexuality. combination of the two.

you spray wasps with low levels of insecticides they start fucking constantly, it's not cuz they're panicking like the know nothings think, the freak scientific sadists who 'study' these things. It's cuz of the lowering of consciousness.

I've taken long breaks from P just to MO, like after I worked in an adult bookstore for over a year. My brain was full of skin, and not my personally selected custom fantasy material that I've found online, it was just all so much same and things that I wasn't into. A kind of immersive aversion therapy. I also liked to MO in the bath. It took the onset of bad depression and an abusive relationship for me to fall back into the internet P trap again.
