Even if one lapses from time to time in their goal towards total abstinence, count this as progress.

For you are still gaining in the aggregate a strength within yourself, to the point that a lapse only serves to remind you why you are giving up PMO - less pleasure is found in it, and more pain. This reflects a strengthened self and a weakened passion/ addiction. And then at some point the balance tips, where the self is stronger than the addiction, and it begins to wither away.

Yes! There are no backward steps on this journey if we are sincere about dealing with the addiction.

Amen brother. What does a lost battle mean when you are fighting to win a war. Actually seeing it as a lost battle enables you to continue the war. And carrying on with this war metaphor, logistics are always going to play the largest part - you need to acquire the resources [read strength] first in order to push through to the victory.

I feel a Winston Churchill type speech coming on.

The war analogy is perfect for our PMO battle. This war, however, is one that we will eventually win. The cards are stacked in our favor as we have God-given dominion over our minds and experience. As you say, we just need to get the logistics in order so the battle is swift and loss of time is minimal.

"The Churchill NoFap Speech" - sounds good! :D

  5. Something like this maybe "Even though large tracts of Europe and many old and famous states have fallen or may fall into the grip of porn and all the odious apparatus of lust and greed, we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in cyberspace, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in our hearts, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.”

  6. I do hope so. But I am not so confident as I used t be about this. Perhaps when I finally broke the 120 day mark 2 years ago it was an early victory... The curious thing is I draw strength from being inspired to get through the bad moods, without relapsing, in the first 60 days of a streak... and at this point it is hard for me to get inspired... because I have pretty much heard it all... it leaves me wondering that I need something more to get through this... like join an SA group or something... I don't have many options in my area though... and on days like this I seem to have the required strength and clarity to keep on going...

Major kudos for your streak. Hope to get there again some day.
