    Good day to all Fapstronauts,

I have a question in regards to the process of removing Pr0n from my life.
I was watching the PIED video on the "your brain on porn" site, and the maker of the video says that you need to weaken your established neural pathways to porn, in order to remove your addiction, but you need to start fantasizing real people, like that girl from work, or your gf etc.
Is that not another trigger of the porn way? I mean, I am making my own fantasies, with a person that yes, exists (so do pornstars though) and if I play my cards right it might happen in real life, but isn't it more or less the same with lusting over pictures from real girls on Tinder, or fapping with your ex-gfs pics, generally not only reengaging with masturbation but also firing up the same addiction of imaginary situations?
I do not know if I am putting it as eloquently as other people, but let me summarize my point :
    - Is it ok to fantasize about real girls doing naughty things?
    - If yes, what is the difference of fantasizing about pornstars, which we know is a nono.
    - Is fapping with a real girl in your mind better than fapping on porn, or the same?
    - Is it not the point that we should abstain from all fantasies and chase away any sexual thought from our minds regardless of the partner in that fantasy is?
    - Can the brain differentiate between porn and sexual fantasy?
    - Is sexual fantasy contributing to my ED?
    - Can I fap thinking on that pretty coworker and my PIED, lack of erection, depression, anxiety go away, or do I need to cut fapping completely (because honestly I though EVERYTHING sexual needs to go!)

Please let me know, I am a bit confused, and sorry if it sounds silly.

  2. You have a pied issue, anything that gets you to M is going to slow or stop your healing in this regard. It's not an easy thing to do but if you you want to recover, you need to avoid anything that causes you to M. There is the physical pied from over stimulating and also the mental. I'm not sure which you have or if both.

  3. I see your point. For me, I fantasized before I even knew porn was a thing - fantasizing is natural. But I like to think about it as visualizing, not fantasizing. Boxers visualizing walking to the ring to prep their nervous system, so nerves don't go out of control on the night. So, I like to visualize having sex again.

As long as your thinking about realistic stuff, the feel of her skin, the smell, the sounds of normal sex – for me, I think it will help! Thinking about banging 100 women in a night with flat-out HxC nasty stuff might not help as much haha.

This whole reboot thing is too new to know what works and what doesn't. I'm sure you'll hear mixed responses!

Thank you for your replies. I probably suffer from both mental and physical PIED, as I have been drydocking (no lube) for 18 years. It just has become too much lately, so its time to put PMO to rest.
I agree the Fapping addiction is not even acknowledged by the medical community, so we are treading through murky waters sometimes, especially when it comes to fine nuances of the human psyche.
I will just keep on the simple route of no PMO whatsoever and guard my thoughts against P. If I end up in bed with a girl (or two hehe) I will then focus on them rather than visualize porn.

    What is HxC?

"we should abstain from all fantasies and chase away any sexual thought from our minds regardless of the partner in that fantasy is" . Yes, for the duration of your reboot. I think you should abstain from absolutely everything for a while, I definitely am trying to do so.
