Meditation is crucial !

    Meditation has to be a part of your NoFap journey .An important part at that, especially if you are on hard mode.

    It's one thing to resist an urge and feel good after you have successfully resisted it. But by doing that, you are only forcefully pushing the urge to the background, and it is sure to come back strong again.

    The real key lies in observing the urge and not forcefully pushing it back, but instead not being bothered by it even if it stays in the foreground. The urge should be like just another cloud in the blue sky which you look at and move on. This skill can only be achieved through regular meditation !

    After years of failing in NoFap, I am finally finding some success only because I started practicing meditation regularly. Every day first thing in the morning . No rest days.

    You have only one life to experience the combined power of NoFap + Meditation. Don't waste the opportunity .

    This gives me hope. I just started meditation a week ago. Somedays it really feels good and I'm just getting used to it.

    The reboot is soooo brutal. I'm dying.
    But I'm happy to hear someone affirm that meditation helps.

    What tips would you have for someone who has unsuccessfully tried to add meditation into their daily routine? I don't really "get it." What I have tried is a few miscellaneous apps, but never managed to stay focused (ironic, huh?).

  5. I just relapsed at 12 days and my excuse was because "I couldn't fall asleep". I'm willing to try meditation now..got nothing to lose

    Pick a length of time that you can commit to sitting in meditation. Then take two minutes off the time. Start with that. So if you think five minutes is good, try just 3. Building and sustaining the habit is more about frequency and repetition. Start by counting breath. Inhale is one. Exhale is two. Inhale 3. Focus itself isn't the goal; rather, it is the moment of noticing that your mind has drifted away from counting the breath and is instead thinking about that super burrito. I try to do it as part of my sleep routine, and use the Insight Timer app. Meditation is KEY to my recovery and I wish it to be a part of everyone's routine.
     
  7. what type of meditation, may i ask whether it can include religion? I'm orthodox christian and i'm just wondering whether i can pray and meditate? And how long should i meditate for and how often?
