Greetings my fine flock of fellow former fapers. Several weeks ago I was looking at some general information on addiction and was bummed to recognize my current situation laid out. The compulsive behavior, increased use and intensity, affect on relationship, job, self esteem, lack of motivation and all the rest. The realization of where I was at took me by surprise, and it shouldn't have. Being a recovering alcoholic I know a little bit about addiction. So I have an idea what I've got to do now. I know it won't be easy and that I can't do it alone. So I'm reaching out to ya'll, I'm reading and educating myself about porn addiction, I may join a local group if there is one. That helped with the booze. I took a little time to get my head right and figured new years was a good time to get started. And so it begins.

  3. Welcome to the Nofap community! I haven't found much outside groups specifically for PMO but SAA is designed for such addictions as well so you may start there as far as offline support goes. but as for online support, Nofap is a great place to start.

Welcome to NoFap where, as you have seen, you are amongst friends who are here to encourage you and not judge you.

    Borisbadanof!
Thanks for your great introduction. You seem to have regained control over your life from the plight of alcohol -- and I believe you will win this one too! Welcome to NoFap, brother. May you find the new dignity and peace of mind which we all seek, and I hope your NoFap journey is a strong and bope-filled one. Stay brave and positive, and I wish you all the very best! Cheers, mate!

I appreciate the encouragement! I started this on the first and did fine, for a couple of weeks. I fapped up. Although I knew it'd get worse before it got better, when it got worse I got weak. So starting again. (Never Quit Quitting) Being alone and lonely puts me in a risky place. I intend to check in here much more often. This group is a greater power, I need your strength and will contribute what I can. Stay strong friends. This is one problem that has got to get out of hand.

What are your current strategies for combating the enemy called PMO?
