Lucid dreaming

Discussion in 'Compulsive Sexual Behavior' started by Deleted Account, Mar 1, 2023.

  1. I have a tendency to become lucid during my dreams. The issue is that in the dream state I do not have the same kind of mental restraint like in the waking hours. So far this year most of my wet dreams were on a background of being lucid.

Do any others have this issue? If so how do you work around it?

Do you try to find ways to avoid becoming lucid or do you set an intention in advance to avoid having sex if you become lucid.

The main thing I am looking for is to avoid sex/wet dreams in case if I slip into becoming lucid in the dream state.

The reason why I ask is also because wet dreams is one of the criteria I made to reset my counter as wet dreams are best to be avoided or else in my opinion, one's streak becomes dirty.

No offense, but that doesn't sound like a healthy mindset; I don't think this should be classified as a problematic sexual behavior, because nocturnal emissions and erotic dreams are something that is out of our control. When you abstain your prostate fluid builds up and needs to discharge, that's just normal biological function of the body, similarly as urinating and defecating is; don't look at nocturnal emissions as something dirty.

Sure, some nocturnal emissions are not purely physical, but are caused by erotic dreams, but that is a phase you will need to go through if your mind is overly sexualized, this tends to go away with time as you stop consuming sexual content such as porn or psubs. Lot's of sexual thoughts and fantasies can also have similar effect, so try not to indulge in them if they come up during the day—your dreams are just an unconscious mirror reflection of your conscious awake thoughts—if you crave P, M, O or S all day and fantasize about it then naturally you will dream about it. But if stuff happens it's just a dream, so you should not beat yourself up for it; it's you waking life actions that really matter—dreams are just an automatically and unconsciously manifested fruit of these awake actions.

That being said, if you don't wanna deal with erotic dreams then you could try to wake yourself up, if you become lucid, since you probably will have some control when lucid. The way you wake yourself up is by looking upwards, by trying to turn your eyeballs inside out, like you would be trying to see inside your forehead. Because eye movements in a dream are replicated in reality this will move your actual eyes for real and force your eyelids open, and probably will wake you up.

Lucid dreaming is when you become aware that you are dreaming and can consciously control the dream's content. It's a skill that can be developed through practice and can be used to explore and enhance the dream experience. However, as you mentioned, it can also lead to sexual dreams and wet dreams.

Wet dreams are a natural bodily function that occurs during sleep when the body releases semen. They are not something that can be controlled, and they are not a sign of failure or weakness. Many people experience wet dreams, and they are a normal part of sexual development.
