    Hi everyone,

Maybe something similiar has already been pointed out somewhere at some time in this forum before but even if it was, a little recall can't do harm i guess. ;-)

I want to recommend the book "Great Sex" from Michael Castleman. Actually i didn't read the whole book but only some chapters - but even they were really helpful for me to get back into touch with a natural, satisfying sexuality. The insights provided by castlemen not only help you to develop a more fullfilling perspective on sexuality but also to actually lose interest in pornography. The topics of the book are widespread from rather practical advices and suggestions to dealing with sexual dysfunctions like ED and Premature Ejaculation. In general, Castleman's concept of sexuality is based of the involvement of the whole body i contrast to the focus on genitals only (which porn usually represents).

Actually i don't want to advertise Castleman's book specifically but rather his general idea of a more 'holistic' sexuality which in many ways differs from what porn taught us from early age on. I'm sure there are lot of similiar readings which i don't know but could also be recommended here. If you know a few - feel free to contribute them!

I already experienced some benefits from reading that book. Due to his advices i find it easier to resist pornography and also had less anxiety concerning my performance in bed.

Learn about a healthy sexuality, it'll help you too!

    Regards,

    Dan

Sounds great mate, will look that up. I often quote Albert Einstein when he said, "You will not solve a problem using the same thinking that caused it", and I reckon re-educating and focusing on new and healthy habits/approaches is certainly one of the best ways to move forward as it gives centre stage to the 'new' us whilst de-throning (ruthlessly killing!!!) the old 'addictive' part of us that cares for nothing but to feed it's own desperate/greedy needs with no regard whatsoever to the price the 'real' us has to pay. So anything positive, creative, constructive etc that 'feeds' and sustains the 'new and improved' versions we are creating of ourselves sounds good to me:eek:

Here's my little contribution to this thread...

    Hey!

Thanks for your contribution, it fits quite well into the concern. Only focussing of staying abstinent without replacing the old drug with something healthy isn't such a great idea. Of course, being occupied with healthy non-sexual things is important too, but after a while one will be remembered of one's sexual nature. And especially for the single Fapstronauts, that might be tough and pornography is still the fastest and cheapest way to deal with one's sexual desires. So at this point it might be even more important to understand the difference between real sexuality. Just like people need to get into contact with real food and cooking in order to lose interest in McDonalds, people need to get into contact with real sex in order to lose interest in pornography.

From what i could read on amazon, "sexual intelligence" seems also to be a worthy read with regard to this topic.
