    Hello. I'm 21 years old.

I've been masturbating to porn since I discovered both when I was 9 years old. I've been trying nofap since before I was aware of nofap, but I've failed every time. The past few years I've been passively doing nofap. I didn't make it a part of my life, I guess because I didn't want to admit that masturbation was a big part of my life. But this is it. I think unless I make nofap an active part of my life, I won't be able to conquer myself. I hate the person I've let myself become, but I don't want to give up hope yet of what I can be.

My goal is to completely stop masturbation, stop porn, and to stop being a completely lonely person.

I don't know what else to put here, as I don't want to put too many details that could identify me. But thank you for reading what I wrote!

    Hi welcome to NoFap.
You sound very clear about your goals and intention and also about your understanding of what this cycle has done to you.
Dont hate yourself, you can work through this and as you say, it is much easier to do it with help and in a community of supportive people, here. Head over to the rebooting forums, and begin a journal that is meaningful to you. You have already started.

    Welcome to the movement.

This is YOUR recovery and you must own it. You may be familiar with other addiction recovery programs. The first 90 days of these programs require meeting everyday for the first 90 days of recovery. I suggest visiting and contributing to NoFap each of your first 90 days. Glean wisdom from the strong, encourage the new, and be wary of those who are negative and make excuses. Add the words of your struggle to those of others and help create this wonderful narrative of transformation. I have made my NoFap time a replacement for all web surfing and social media. Be wary of depending on technology like counters and web filters. Understand that the battle is between your ears more so than between your legs. Each time you are tempted to go to that foul place, you must remember the man you are working to become, and then choose to be in control. Do not allow porn to steal another second of your life.

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
    For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
    Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul

    Be Strong my Friend.

Welcome to NoFap where you are amongst friends who are here to encourage you and not judge you.

Please keep in mind that there are men and women from around the world who are here seeking help and encouragement to control PMO. It is good to not share detailed specifics online but the chance of you being identified by what you share is slim. Change names, cities, towns to protect yourself but please share your story so that we can help you.

Creating a journal will allow us to follow you along your journey. To do so, go to the Reboot Logs, find your age group and begin a thread, which is your journal. Place a link here so that we can encourage you along your journey.

What are your current strategies for combating the enemy, PMO?

I just want to say thank you all for your kind words!

I will try not to, but I will say that I believe I am a terrible person because of porn and I deserve the hate I give myself. But I will try not to. Hating myself might lead to another relapse.

I unfortunately already failed - multiple times, every single day from since I came here, which is forcing me to do more drastic things.

This is definitely something I should have done... I need to put a reminder to come on here.

I started a journal! I outlined some of my strategies in there, but basically I want to block access to computers at home, and force myself to go out more. I am going to try and make it as difficult as possible to access my computer in my home. For example, right now my laptop is in my room. Well, I'm going to keep it in the kitchen from now on. If I want to use it, I go out. That's my rule. I also have other things, like exercise and stuff.

Hi! I'm on day 2 of NoFap. I've felt just like you in the sense of hating myself. I think we need to identify the difference between hating our actions versus who we are. Without PMO, I would love who I am so much more! So I have to eliminate the action, not a part of who I am. I know that we can accomplish our goals! We just have to do it! I wish you all the luck! And welcome! :)

    Truly said by D.J

This is the place where you will be encouraged, given insights, steps, etc to combat PMO, no one here will judge you. But in doing so you have to provide details that means the nature of your problem, your circumstances, etc that will help fellow NoFappers to unedrstand you better, after that they can give you solutions relavantly. We come here for the same reason but you have to understand that the circumstances or the nature are always not same. This is because we are different in age, place of living, our daily life, etc. Keep yourself protected but that doesn't mean you can't share your problems more elaborately. D.J has already shown you the path.

Start your journey plan accordingly at first there will be difficulties like relasping, mood swings, etc but start it. You are saying that active NoFap is your issue so get it activated. In this you will get help from us but you have to provide some more information like what are obstructing you to get active in NoFap, etc. So got the picture. Another browse the forum thoroughly it will help you a lot.

    Best Of Luck.
