I just don't have the patience to sit and study anymore. (I'm in college). I feel this blasé feeling towards everything. It feels like I lost interest in life. Nothing is exciting. Do you guys feel excited about things? For me everything is meh , you know?
I have no desire to work, study, hang out with friends. I don't know what's wrong with me.
Anyway, it's been 40 days of abstinence today. Does anybody else in here feel the way I do?

That definitely sounds like a degree of depression to me, can't say whether its mild, moderate or whatever since I'm not an expert. Its a feeling I am all to familiar with, nothing excites or brings any real joy, no drive to ho anywhere or do anything. Been living with it for years myself and am slowly learning how combat it but, just like kicking this addiction, its a marathon not a sprint.

That sounds like depression. Suggestion: read The Self Healing mind. (I got the audiobook on Cloud Library free). Talks about how you can manage and even cure depression using 5 pillars (Breath, Movement, Nutrition, Sleep, Spirituality).

I've started to do a mix of weight training, yoga, breathing exercises (to deal with anxiety ), and trying out new hobbies to keep my mind occupied and my body busy. It helps me quite a lot but I have also recently gotten myself into therapy as well. In my experience as a man, people don't seem to listen or take us seriously when we need to talk about our feelings or thoughts so it really helps to have a person to go to.

People really don't take it seriously. Specially if it's a porn addiction.
Yeah, I hope so. But I'm also afraid it will not.

Terrible anhedonia, mate! I wonder if it will go away at some point or if I damaged my brain forever. I feel so dumb, I'm not as intelligent as I was once. :/

It's like life has lost its color, right? And congrats on your 40 days of abstinence, that's huge. Have you considered talking to someone about how you're feeling? Sometimes just getting those thoughts out there can make a big difference. Also, I wanted to mention, since you brought up abstinence, it's important to be mindful of any substances you might have been using in the past. Sometimes certain drugs can have long-lasting effects on our mood and motivation, even after we've stopped using them. I found this link that talks about signs of drug poisoning https://sunlightrecovery.com/signs-of-roofied/. It might be worth checking out, just to rule it out.
