Not sure what people mean by masturbating helps you explore yourself. All it does is tells you that your dick works. Why do yu need to explore yourself. Why not just save that for when you can have real sex?
I was so jaded from masturbation that the only value of having sex with a real girl is that it gave me new imagry to masturbate to. Also i could not even have an orgasm during sex with a girl unless i ran images in my mind of other women, strippers, and porn in my mind.. in truth i was only using the girl as an extension of my masturbation... I was truly jaded. If you are not an addict it can be fine a few times a year.. but if you are a true addict, the only solution is not to do it at all.. because there is no such thing as a casual crack or heroin user. Once you are addicted, it owns you.
i actually do, but when i was a 14 years looking like a child and not able to get real women it was helpful for me to masturbate. Today i'm fully aware and confident in myself so i don't use masturbation anymore.

Absolutely not. I've felt guilty many times after masturbating but not just because I had touched myself. I regretted that I had chosen the instant gratification that it provides over any other alternative I found less atractive at that moment (studying for a test, hanging out with my friends, working out, visiting my family...) I was taking the easy, brief and irrational way to happiness and felt disappointed with myself. So I think it's not a matter of masturbation per se. Maybe it's more about why you masturbate in the first place. When you do it because it's something you really want to do (because it's completely natural to know and enjoy your own body) there shouldn't be remorse involved. But, when it's because you can't control that urge and it affects other things you know that should be prioritized, then you have a problem. I have that problem and I've been trying to get over it for 15 days now. If I masturbated today I'd totally feel off because what I want now is to regain the control of my sexuality.
I understand what you mean by the problem could be the reason that people do it. I just feel trash physically and mentally after masturbating and so do people I know irl that do nofap. People say it depletes your sexual energy which there is no evidence for but it would make a lot of sense to explain the way we feel after MOing.
