So, I'm a 20-year-old male who hasn't had a morning wood since I was late 17 or early 18. From that time until now (late 20s), I've noticed that during sex, I get hard, but I can't stay hard without constant touch, and even a minute without it causes me to go flacid. Then I discovered that even when I masturbate, my erection lasts for about a minute or a minute and a half. I suspected PIED because I've been watching porn since I was 12-13 and masturbate every day, a few times a day. However, after reading a bit about PIED, most people say they can't even get hard, but I did a 'test' and discovered that I can get hard without porn, even without porn, and even without touching myself, but only thinking, so clearly the problem isn't getting erect, but staying erect. So now I'm confused: is it PIED or not? Also, if it is still considered PIED, can I stop watching porn but continue masturbating at least once a day and be cured, or should I stop watching porn and masturbating entirely?

    P.S.
I am not sure if this is the correct place in the forum, so if it is not, then please let me know where should I make the post.

From what I understand, the average amount of times the average guy jacks is once or twice a week. I do think you have a more mild form of PIED. You've wired yourself to porn, so you should go on a 90 day reboot, and then start rewiring yourself with real-life sex. Masturbation can start back to whatever frequency is best adapted for your lifestyle after your reboot, but you want to get to the point where going a couple days or even a week (depending on what's going on in your life) without masturbating is pretty easy for you.

PIED is unpredictable and that’s what’s so infuriating about it. Think about it, if you knew you weren’t able to get hard you just wouldn’t attempt to have sex. But no, it happens when you least expect it.

Monk mode (no PMO or MO) is the best way to heal. Set a new standard for your life where you live life without touching your privates. After that, your body will rejuvenate itself like a caterpillar in a chrysalis.

This is textbook PIED. And we are almost identical in the age we started and the progression of PIED. But you still seem to be not as affected as I am.
You seem to be able to get erect with or without porn or touch, jus by imagination. I have lost that ability which is even more severe form of PIED. Its like Magneto losing his ability to control metals and trying to regain it.

So the only advise I have is. Quit porn and never look back. And hopefully in 3-18 months...you'll be healed depending upon your commitment and how your brain recovers.

I have been 2 years free now. But still nowhere near normal sexual functioning. But better than where i was during my addiction phase.

Yeah that sounds like PIED. Stop porn and stop jerking off. Not having morning wood from 17-20 sounds highly unusual. Do a full 90 day reboot.

Here’s how to find out if it’s PIED: stop using P. Not for long, just a couple months. You might even figure it out in a couple weeks, even days. If your boner still doesn’t have full function after three months of no P, M, or O, it’s not PIED. If you can’t even go three days without returning to The Hub and workin’ the weasel, it’s probably PIED and you are definitely addicted to P.

If I remember correctly some people in this forum with PIED went on a long a two, three month recovery, and then attempted sex. They were only able to get it up to a certain point the first time around, but with some more practice at sex they got the point where they had satisfying erections. Maybe for those of us with little experience it isn't an automatic thing.

It's been two days since I have not watched P and I barely resist, but I will give it a couple weeks to see how it goes. Your explanation is very good thought, absolutely mind-blowing how easily and understandably you said it.

that may not be long enough. Healing then brain can take much longer. If he’s still having issues after a few months, he should go to the doctor to make sure it’s not physical in nature though.

Agree, the 2-3 month timeline is very outdated now, it's likely that it's going to take a lot longer than that.

This causes an issue as guys will do their 90 days and if they see no improvement they conclude that it's not working and go straight back to porn again, because why not? They then go for years or maybe even the rest of their life with this problem that they think is incurable. On the other hand, telling them that it may take a year or more is a very daunting prospect, which as a result may put them off from even trying. Whereas hearing that 60-90 days will work is tolerable enough for them to start, the hope then is that even if that's not long enough, they stick with it until they get the results.
